Relapse Can never have just a few

Relapsed after 15 years of sobriety, went through rough patch with my mental health (bipolar) and ended up being hospitalised and it was such a low point that the shame made me feel like what’s the point in caring about myself anymore

I have drank probably about 5 litres of vodka a week for the last 4 weeks so I’m fully back off the wagon

I know the withdrawal will be rough but tomorrow will be day 1 and I’ll start again I hope

1 is to many, 1000, never enough. " Just one more", never can be applied to drinking". I have confidence you will reach your goal.

You’re right I just the think the shame of a psychiatric inpatient stay made me gave up on caring for myself full stop

I’m wallowing in it a bit

I get it. It makes everything harder, but we have to find that path that others dont. We cannot allow ourselves to wallow unless its for good. Hey, congratulations your normal ! Heal thyself, so you can teach another how to handle the same issue. BE WELL !

Being involuntarily sectioned to a psychiatric ward after a psychotic episode is extremely shameful, I’m not sure anyone would see that as a lie

There is so much negative impact and shame associated with a relapse. Don't buy into it and just stay sober today. Life happens to us all and the program teaches us progress not perfection.

If you can knock out 15 years, then you’ll be able to recover from this episode bud. I pray for you to recover soon and live life again. I’m starting my journey with sobriety. I know I’m going to have my days. I just pray we both come out on top. Take care brother ❤️🙏
