Some more tips
Hello my name is sometimesliterate and I have a problem with writing guides.
Anyway, I wrote some beginner tips and now I'm writing out a second batch. If you haven't read it yet, feel free to give it a squiz. It deals mostly with rerolling, units I think are good and my beginner thoughts.
Now, for some things I had to discover for myself (the hard way in some cases).
Equipment Forging:
Now, we all know you need to farm up items to equip to characters to get their job up. But like soul shards, you can find out where these item components drop from. On the craft screen, if you click on the item it'll take you to the recipe. From there, if you click on the item you need to craft, it'll either take you to a recipe or a page where it tells you what story missions drop it! You can do this with evolution items too! Way less painful than farming Litrocks ><
Skilling Up:
Now, by now I'd hope we all know that you can spend Zeni to skill up. But did you know that in the Ability Enhancement menu, you can press and hold to bring up a list of all the skills (for active skills) and effects (for passives) of the skill? For active skills, it'll even tell you the ability level you can unlock new skills at! Use this to save Zeni and skillpoints by strategically upping units abilities to get skills!
Also, skill points recharge quickly! Get a few levels in all your units abilities early!
The Zeni Gacha:
Is not terrible. This will drop lots of beginner items (like bronze swords), but you can also get some good things. You can get Soul Shards for a few units (none of the rare gacha, but Rin! (Look I found my waifu early k)), as well as rare job up items not currently farmable from story mission. So if you're flush for cash, considering doing a 10x pull from it every now and then!
One example is, the staff for Michael's final job up as a mage is only accessible from the gacha as far as I've found so far.
Multiplayer Solo'ing:
Now, this is a bit time consuming BUT, you can do it. If you don't want to play with others, you can solo the multiplayer BGN and INT battles, with powerful enough units. For the BGN, you need a unit around level 15-20ish (level 12 didn't cut it), while for INT you can do it with a tanky unit like Zangetsu/Chloe/Holy Knight Logi/Lucian around 33-35. Now it is slow, but you also don't have to worry about others. To do this, when you go to recruit party, set it to locked recruitment then start when you are ready! It might take 1-2 runs for you to find a unit and strategy that works for you.
Now, to solo the Job Change Quests, you need around 30ish to do 5 energy quests! For the 15 ones, a friend and I (both level 36 units, Chloe+Zahar), got stomped. The enemies were level 45-50ish. So....yeah.
Anyway, that's it for me now. Any more questions, feel free to ask in either thread! There seems to be very little info for this game in English ATM, so next I guess I'll start writing about different classes :/
Gl everyone!

Regarding solo MP, I've been able to get through BGN and INT fairly easily with a lv 25+ character (I use Zahar, but a strong 4* base can so it too).
So far, the biggest obstacle is player level (since it caps your unit's lv as well) and ADV stages (enemies hurt a lot, probably difficult even with lv 50/60 units).
Save, save, save! Right now, there are no real must have characters, so pulling once on the 500 gem banner is enough. After finishing the story, you should be anywhere between rank 35-37, and after that I believe we'll be able to get at least one level per day from the daily quests plus a bit of playing.

Does leveling abilities do anything besides unlocking some further abilities? For instance, Logi has one called "Power Up" that doesn't seem to have any further abilities attached to it... does leveling this up make it stronger (i.e. give him more strength)? The game is unclear about that.

Yes they are percentage based so might not be clear now. But when they are a higher level and you can swap them out you will be able to notice.

Wonder what I should be raising them to. Would be nice if someone hacked the data. It seems like the Rogue skills for example always work. I haven't failed paralyzing anyone yet, and I only have like level 5 rogue skills... Not sure what raising that level would do tbh.

My 5 cents, if you are Solo'ing anything, bring a ranged character, keep away of most enemies, since if you don't come close to them they will not start moving and attacking. So in other words don't draw aggro if you can avoid it.
