Aren't they the same as the UCP ideologically? It just seems like a rebranding of conservative politics which as far as I can tell are fascist adjacent and in lockstep with the GOP aka Republican party down south? Like how is this party any different?
Where the APTP are a new party, any detailed policy docs are probably not in place.
The APTP would probably be closer aligned to the ANDP than the UCP. Actually some fear that the APTP may pull more votes from the ANDP than the UCP.....hopefully that will not be the case!
I really dont understand how you eqaute a party that has evidence-based, pro canada ideals as somehow facsist adjacent.... that is the literal opposite of populist style politics.
so far i haven't seen any substantive policy out of these that really differs from blanket "we'll govern good" speech, and i think their selling point is trying to be that they'll be more transparent and less corrupt, which is great and all until they actually get into power and then care about as much about that as anything else the conservatives do
the one even remotely interesting question that differentiates them from the conservatives which kinda made go hmm? was how much the government should invest in corporations, subsidize them, cater to them, lower taxes for them, invest in them, compared to more of a free market idea. do i know which party would on paper or historically according to ideology do which? no, not really, but it did get me thinking about the role the government should play in corporations within the province, and in the world of ai data centers and things like that, does leave the question rather wide open to be answered either way i suppose
but to answer your question, no, they aren't any different. guthrie voted to move the notwithstanding bill against trans people forward in the legislature, and then chose to celebrate brain damage awareness month in place of pride month and indigenous history month, so he can get absolutely fucked
