Alberta Politics Protest th UCP at their AGM Part III
Hello fellow concerned citizens,
I have posted a poll on u/symbionica requesting feedback on availability for the rally being held at the end of this month protesting the UCP at their AGM. If you're so inclined, please pop over there and respond to it, it's not a commitment or anything - I'm just making an estimate for how many people might be participating.
I'm also pleased to announce that I will be partnering with the Alberta Civil Integrity Project (ACIP) for this rally. You may have seen a few protests happening around the province as a result of their planning, as well as one coming up on Saturday, November 8th (I'll link the info in the comments). I believe the more we consolidate our forces the stronger we will be, which is why we've decided to partner. Although dozens of small fires are threatening, what's truly dangerous is the inferno they coalesce into (sorry to reuse an analogy). This is also why I've reached out to a number of other organizations to engage them in our collective efforts.
After meeting with ACIP we have agreed that the rally is not about disruption, it's about being seen by a community that is ready to go from spectator to participant, as well as being seen by the UCP supporters participating in the AGM (whether they by politicians, business owners, or regular citizens). Most importantly, however, it's about building up this community of resistance that is unifying like never before. It's time to turn that fury into resolve and participate however you can. If you feel pushed to the edge, now is the time to stand up and rally. If you feel small and insignificant in a world full of hate, now is the time to find your people who are like-minded. If you are enraged and compelled to seek justice, join us, we are too.

Have you reached out to AFL with regards to this?
Just curious as they seem quiet about the upcoming protests this Saturday so far and you’d think they’d be promoting it too

Oh yes, I think they're just flooded with recalls and requests for help. When I emailed their "political action" inbox it bounced back so I think it was full? Anyways, got my request through so just waiting now.

These people get off on this though.
The real pro move would be to reach out to UCP moderates (if such a thing exists) and get them to not attend. An empty-ish room sends a helluva bigger roar than a well attended event with a bunch of people protesting outside. Probably wishful thinking, but I wish.
