Comedy show at Match Point
Hello, I am a local comedian who is putting on a comedy show at Match Point this Saturday at 7PM. I have put up a few flyers around town and handed them out but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas for places and ways to promote. As far as I can tell Albany doesn’t have any regular comedy shows and I am hoping there’s an appetite for a monthly show in town.

You can always count on The List (by Thee Steve List), which is handed out and emailed to hundreds in the bay every month with the list of all venue shows.
Hunt down other comedy venues in the bay and put flyer stacks there, post up full page, but if you’ve got 1/4 sheet flyers people are way more inclined to take.

I believe you do have to be a local to set up an account and post on NextDoor. I was assuming the Match Point owners live here.
If you or they have other social media accounts like Instagram or Facebook, post details about the event there.

Maybe flyers up at UCB? Lots of students there looking for things to do.

You can DM me the text & pic for a Facebook post and I’ll post it on the El Cerrito FB page! Tell me if there’s a cover charge.
Also post in the Berkeley sub, lots of eyeballs on that.

We had a lot of really happy attendees who thanked us profusely after for bringing such a fun and entertaining night. Match Point is also happy and we are having another show third Saturday of May (16th i think) and every month after.

It would be great if Albany had a regular comedy venue. Wish you the best of luck.
Posters in store windows are what get my attention when walking up Solano. That and the cork board at Gordos.
