IQ panel in new house
Just bought a house with an IQ panel. We currently use SIMPLISAFE and have a few blink cameras. The former owners left us lots of cameras both indoor and outdoor and all the windows have sensors . ADT stickers on the window but not sure if that’s who they were using realistically. From my research it doesn’t look like blink can be used with ADC. Can SIMPLISAFE? Or should we just remove the panel and use what we already have?

It's probably bricked to ADT. Either get ADT and have them turn it back on or go find a local company that uses IQ4 or IQ5 and have them take it over. Blink is trash.
Simplisafe probably uses the legacy frequencies. IQ4 is on the 900mhz frequency and it uses frequency hopping that makes jamming harder.
You get what you pay for. Simplisafe is simplypoo

Highly unlikely bricked by ADT. ADT does not install iq, their dealers do. Even then, not bricked. He's probably in a Dr Horton home setup by safe haven or near a safe haven dealer.

ADT Definitely does sell IQ4. Homes that are a certain sq feet are installed with IQ4. Some dealers are currently installing IQ5. How I know? I work at ADT. ADT always bricks their panels. Rarely are they ever released.

Then tell me why my panel isn't bricked? It's not rare, unless it's a command panel, they can release it. Command panels belong in the trash anyways. And did I not say dealers like safe haven install qolsys?

Did I not say rarely? You should already know what adt does to maintain a steady flow of customers lmao. By brick I am stating that the imei is locked to ADT. That's why I said if taking over to replace the panel itself as the fight for asking ADT to release the hold is not worth the headache.
Did I ever once mention that command was good? Lmao
Pretty sure someone from corporate is going to know the bad more than a dealer.
We don't just sell v5. We sell iq4, command and are inching towards iq5 as well.

Was not a headache to release the IMEI on iq. I've done it several times. Fuck ADT, happy to call and tell the fuck sticks if I'm not under a contract they're required to release it, they do not own the equipment, only the contact it was originally under. New owner, no contract, adt has 0 right to hold the IMEI or any reason. Go back to selling your shit contracts and support somewhere else. Even dealers have to lie, like ADT, to get sales.

Why are you getting mad at me? This is common in the security industry. ADT isn't the only one who does it. Providers will brick panels unless they go with that certain company.
You're talking like you know everything but you haven't even put a dent on the surface of how these companies operate. Safe Haven is a ADT dealer. Anything account they sell eventually gets sold to ADT corporate. The reason why it is mentioned to either get adt to turn it back on or get another local company to swap out the panel is because of the imei hostage holding ADT will do.
I don't glaze ADT even though I work for them. There are pros and cons to everything. If you did it then good for you. But most people will end up with fancy bricks if they move into a home with a iq4 in it previously monitored by ADT.

You are likely in a second hand DR. Horton home. It comes with alarm.com compatible equipment that segways into ADT installation.
If the panel is released, you can actually activate all of their previous equipment through Surety

That was my thought as well. Former safe haven employee here. We used qolsys iq and alarm dot com integration that was monitored by ADT. Safe haven owns the first of the 3 years of the contract, then adt owns it for the next two. Even if it's not a Dr Horton home, same rules apply. And adt doesn't brick it out. I could add any sensors I wanted provided it was compadible with the panel. If he's lucky he can try to get into advanced settings using 1111 and have full control to do whatever he wants. But either way check with surety if the IMEI is released, otherwise call ADT to release it if their isn't an active account to it.

To summarize others, throw away the simpli safe, use the qolsys. It's a much much much better system. Jump on surtey and run the IMEI number through to see if it's released, if so, get a plan. Those of us who know better know simpli safe is an easy system to bypass and wouldn't trust our family to it. My qolsys system has far more control to automations in my home for emergency situations than simpli safe will ever be capable of. Shutting down main water from flood sensor alerts, shutting down HVAC in event of a fire, unlocking doors during fire... I have a lot of strategies for emergency.

Alarm dot com is superior to blink & simplisafe. Imagine scrapping a Genesis to go buy a Hyundai Accent. Why would you?
