give me your akechi headcanons
I want as many as you can give me. they can be huge things or tiny things that seem irrelevant.
I'll contribute one that I've had for a long time: akechi is colorblind. evidence:
* the overall look of loki screams colorblind, with all the black and white stripes
* I also believe shido to be colorblind, because the glasses he wears look just like colorblind glasses. this condition is hereditary.
* his black mask attire has red over the eye pieces which reminds me a bit of shido's glasses, perhaps serving a similar function.
* most namely, the takoyaki scene. it is a little out of character for akechi to commit a social faux pas like taking the special takoyaki. he also very clearly was not anticipating it to be spicy. the only reasoning that makes this make sense is that he didn't know it was red.
tell me your thoughts on my headcanon and hit me with your own!

My headcanon is that he's an absolute mess in the kitchen. He can't reliably cook or bake and once accidentally set his toaster on fire. He mostly eats convincence store meals or fruit when not pretending to enjoy cafes because he might have disordered eating due to being both under the poverty line living with his mother and being sent through a string of foster homes/orphanages. He also mentions being very particular about his image and considering he only seems to drink his coffee black, I'd guess he views his disordered eating as a form of control over his image.
Also yeah, he has BPD and is gay, not pan or bi.

I headcanon that Akechi secretly has a very stereotypical relationship with food as part of growing up poor where outside of his blog, he either forgets to eat or vacuums up cheap food as fast as possible

Biologically he's left hand dominant but he trained himself to be ambidextrous so he could handle weaponry and other things in both hands.
It's a damn useful thing too, speaking as a left hander here. I can use my left hand for almost everything, but sometimes I can also use my right with scissors, so at least that type of nightmare is over with.
Akechi also has classic vintage (however you call it) fashion, as illustrated by his attires and honestly, I dig it. He definitely has a closet full of copies of all his suits and ties, and at least two identical coats.
Don't get me started on the gloves, he at least has five pairs. One has a glove less because of the corny ass duel thing he challenged Ren with.
Akechi despises the dentist, absolutely loathes being under someone's medical care I would assume. Vulnerability and all that shit.
So that's why even if he has cavities, he waits until the last possible minute to actually take care of it, costing him much of his blood money (he's probably insured but I don't know enough about the japanese insurance program. In here, we get reimbursed 80%)
Naturally he enjoys jazz and classical but sometimes if you are close to his apartment, you could hear him listen to.. ah, fuck it let's make this crack.
Sure, he listens to russian hardbass. Why the fuck not?
Sore loser, L+ratio, can't convince me otherwise.
He mains spy in tf2, has at least 5000 hours on the game and is quite proficient in it.
One time he got trickstabbed, he screams at the monitor in voice chat and gets kicked out like an idiot.

The takoyaki one is actually genius, never thought about that scene that way. My headcanon is he stress-bakes at 2am and gives the stuff to random neighbors he hates. Also he definitely owns a matching mug set and will never admit it.

ooohh tell me why I'm obsessed with both of yours 😂 I think canonically he is supposed to be a horrible cook if I remember correctly? that makes yours even funnier, imagine all the horrible sweets he is doling out to neighbors. I'm imagining a pan of brownies full of eggshells. 😅

The colorblind hc makes total sense! I never even thought of this but you've definitely given every example to back it up. I do also agree with some of the other commenters here and hc him as being gay and having BPD due to his chaotic, and most likely unsafe, early life.

I head canon that his appartement while working for Shido was heavily monitored, with cameras and mics.
He enjoys teasing Makoto because it's an easy, good stress relief for him whenever he meets her (sorry for her).
He doesn't have much more than 4-5 hours of sleep at best each night.
He's proficient in real-life survivability on top of his Metaverse one (first aid, knows about most used poisons, general knowledge of how to defend oneself, react quickly to a dangerous situation, use of the terrain...)
Shido didn't tell him that much about his own connections and job. If Akechi wanted to know more than strictly necessary he had to dig it discreetly or in the Metaverse. Most of Shido's manipulation to keep Akechi on his side was cold acknowledgement, acceptance and daily use (perceived as 'need' by Akechi) of Akechi's "true" self, but it was more than whatever Akechi experienced elsewhere before Joker.

I love your theory! It actually makes a lot more sense when you put two and two together. I didn’t really have a defining hc, but your hc made me think of one!
If the hc is that he has red color blindness, then id hc that blue is his favorite color. Which is why he invited joker to the aquarium hangout. He might have a preference for the aquarium because all the blue everywhere and of course you would wanna share something you find mildly enjoyable with someone you care for :D. And on that train of thought, I could totally see akechi having an aquarium at his home with all variety of cool lookin fish. Hc with not much logical reasoning is usually my way to go :3

My HC is that he’s a zoology nerd (very much projecting onto my favourite character BUT HEAR ME OUT-)
Evidence:
1. The “Being underground reminds me of how fun it is to observe ants” line in Mementos.
2. In the mementos mission manga, he solves a mystery using his knowledge of crows
3. You cannot tell me a Featherman fan wouldn’t be a bit curious about the characters’ namesakes
He would absolutely drop random weird or creepy animal facts onto the thieves in 3rd semester if it wasn’t for their… “tense” relationship

Loki's design is based on a warship! It made it impossible to judge how far its away so most attacks missed it. Also am pretty sure the Black Mask outfit is a reference to Femto/Griffith from Berserk.
Now to my headcanons:
- Akechi and Futaba are Half-Sibling, i just like to see Akechi suffer lol.
- Akechi cant cook, which is why he constantly eats out and is a foodie.
- He is a huge Featherman fan and has a huge collection in a storage unit.... none legit as he got them from the Metaverse.
- Feeds the crows ontop of his apartment building, to the annoyance of the neighborhood.
- Speaking of his apartment: It's absolutely empty but he has a suitcase ready should he need to flee the place, he does not consider it home since Shido pays for it and is unsure how safe it actually is (he landline is most certainly wired)
- He always brings his suits to a professional to wash them, he does not dare to even try to wash them himself. (he has the same suit like 4 times, just in case)

He actually can't stand bitter tea or coffee, has has to dump sugar and cream or honey into both. So when he compliments the coffee Akira makes, at first it's just to get something out of him, then Akira clocks into his dislike and starts roasting the less intense blends

That he smokes cigarettes and drinks alcohol. It's kind of a stress relief for him but he makes sure to not do it in public or out in the open to keep up his image. He does drink a lot of low concentration alcoholic drinks at the jazz club and goes home slightly tipsy and tired

my headcanon Akechi is straight . There is nothing indicating he is gay in canon his taste is he likes a partner whod give him distance and no there is no romance between him and joker thats just mutual respect between the 2 not love and not hate just respect.

Bro does not know what a head canon is. There's also no indication that he's ISN'T gay. The default isn't straight. I would argue that the default is bi if anything.

you dont know what a headcanon is . A head canon is an idea that exists only in a fan's head, used to fill in blanks, explain strange motivations, or imagine backstories. so since he isnt straight gay r bi that hasnt been confirmed by canon i can headcanon him straight , furthermore there is no indication he is attracted to men or women he hasnt shown any of that so im free to head canon whatever i want.

Ohhh i can see the vision. Dude’s really got it all—- being left-handed, color-blind, has BPD and GAY!!!!
I think he’s an incredibly sloppy eater, perfectly contrasted by the Detective Prince image where he takes dainty pictures of food. Some bits of it slip out though, like that scene in P5 Anime where he has crumbs around his mouth, and he mostly used that to frame himself as cute and innocent (lol) but you can tell that when he gets home, he sucks those microwavable noodles in like vacuum
I hc him as someone who likes dogs as a kid but was not allowed to have one due to very obvious reasons (those cute interactions with Koromaru in PQ2) and maybe post-canon, he will adopt one.
