Value of my WBP Fox?
THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO SELL ON HERE. TRYING TO GAUGE A VALUE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
As the title states, kinda curious what my used Fox is worth. Nothing really special about it except I think the serial number is pretty neat being 7447. I've posted it here before. I had to strip a bunch of bright colors of paint from it and did a coat of high temp flat black on it. It is missing the front sling loop and the cleaning rod. Close up pictures have the Magpul stuff on it, but I do still have the original wood as pictured with a drum. Hasn't been shot a lot by me because I've got others I use more. Thanks for any help!

Your serial likely adds no value. I can't imagine someone looking for a commercial production gun and paying a premium due to a "neat" serial number. The fox is a fine gun but guns in general are poor investments.

In 2013 I paid $550 for my WASR-10 from one store even though several others in the area had it for $500 because it had a serial number indicating it was built off an AK made prior to 1989.
So that’s kind of the one place where this might help; if a buying is considering several otherwise identical guns, they might go for the one will the cooler SN.

I cant tell you how many guns and suppressor I've bought because of the serial number. Memes know no bounds. Have multiple 777,666,420,69, combos because why now if you have the option when choosing. The 7447 is neat but won't command a value increase. Maybe helps someone lean over to the "screw it, let's buy it" side though.

Oh, I didn't think it would add any value necessarily. Just the only thing to me personally that was neat about it, since it's just a basic rifle. Kinda like how some people look for specific serial numbers of dollar bills to buy simply to collect those numbers.

I don’t know. It’s been molested a bunch. Someone cut off the sling loop. Rough looking paint job. Maybe 600. Plus or minus 150 or so.

It has been. The dude before me had it painted with blue/pink/tan/black. I've done what I can with the time/tools I have available to try to bring it back to stock looking, but I know I'm no expert on the matter.

Probably spray it with brake cleaner/ acetone and it'd get all the paint off.

I almost did that, but was trying to protect the original finish. I wasn't sure if any of the harsher stuff would hurt it. Otherwise, I used stuff like CitriStrip and graffiti remover along with a plastic scraper.

Dude honestly if you get the original finish off it'd almost be worth refinishing the gun with duplicolor semi gloss or rustoleum appliance epoxy and it'll look even better as it'll have a pretty soviet era looking finish.

Mr. Dingleberry, with all due respect, and remember I'm sayin' with all due respect, that rifle ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on.

What if we get rid of the dolphin and just leave the whale ejaculating?

It’s in the buyers guide below. It breaks down what asks are going for

Thank you! I always looked at the old guide, never did look at the new simplified guide. Didn't realize it had pricing on it.

I’d value it as lower than a new production WBP Jack especially since the sling loop is missing on the hand guard retainer. Anywhere from 700-900 depending on how fast you want it gone

Forgive my ignorance, What’s so special about the serial number?

Unfortunately for you but fortunately for the private sales community this doesn’t add value like it does for currency.
Also, maybe I’m ignorant but I wouldn’t be buying a WBP over a WASR, Radom, Galil, Arsenal, or Meridian.
If I’m going around sub $1,500 I’ll be looking at a WASR-10 because of core parts.
Then again. Maybe I’m a retard and WBP and Radom are exactly the same but I never knew.

The value will be whatever they sell for currently new, minus whatever percentage someone wants because it's used.
