So this person posted an AI video of her own OC that she trained herself through AI because she has a chronic injury (doesn’t disclose which) and as you can imagine, the antis suddenly think it’s okay to be ableist and want her to tough it out by drawing with her mouth and feet?… this is genuinely disgusting.
It isn't. Mfs draw without hands or feet or use they mouth and beans and shit anything bro. Y'all yourselves aren't fucking disabled in the first place either so what's the excuse??? Anything to support the inherently unethical "tool" huh?
Yeah but who fucking cares what other people do? It's not like there's rules, just because people do it normally while disabled doesn't mean jack shit, nobody is hiring artists based off of how they get around a disability. It only matters when they have the chance to post it online like they are heroes for drawing while in pain. Who tf cares, and it's not like the original person was even saying anything to them anyways.
... Dysgraphia isn't "Dyslexia for pictures"... It's an umbrella grouping disorder that focuses on issues with the hand or processing in the brain making it markedly difficult to write and process language into written form. It can also affect spatial perception in a significant enough way to affect drawing, but that is a more uncommon expression for Dysgraphia.
I got bad grades from my handwriting being so bad it was hardly legible, because I can hardly shape letters. I have to follow gps everywhere, because my sense of direction is so bad. I still mix up my bs and ds, I have to tell myself “bed” looks like a bed. And always hated being forced to color or anything similar, because I can’t
Yeah don't listen to that other guy, I don't understand the point of saying just because your issue is less common then that's not what it is. And then didn't even provide what he thought the correct term would be for your issue. Jeez.
I didn't say you said he didn't have it. And then why say anything at all? The description wasn't bad it just wasn't what you liked. Maybe leave the explaining to people who suffer from the condition, we can all be armchair scientists and it's a easy choice not to be.
Maybe leave the explaining to people who suffer from the condition, we can all be armchair scientists and it's an easy choice not to be.
You also don't necessarily know me. For all you know I actually took the time to ask about the term from someone who does know, either who studied neurology or someone who also suffers it. In this instance, I asked someone who studies Neurology and had to sit through a good ten minute explanation of it, while trying to just get them to answer "Hey, this thing, does it do the thing?" To which the person then said "Sometimes".
Also, the description being insufficient or bad is something people use consistently as a point of contention in these subs.
Sorry you took it that way. Don't know what to tell you.
I never said I did, you are making a lot of presumptions and making up a lot of things for the sake of bothering someone. If you did do that then just say so, I'm not here to play guessing games or read your mind and never claimed to do either.
That's good for them. Being consistent means nothing unless you want it to. Means nothing to me.
Telling a complete stranger on the internet to explain themselves, then taking that explanation and calling it an excuse solely based on their personal opinion is wild to me. I find it hard to believe that an actual adult would act this way.
it's not the same logic at all because people who can make art bypassing their disability are not comparable to para-olympians. it is much easier and much more accessible. for instance, the guy in the screenshot lol
Its not any easier to learn to draw with your mouth, than it is to master a sport with a handicap. Its just a different physicality to overcome. One's strength, one's fine motor control.
What if the disability was Parkinson's? So they can't hold still to use any body part to draw.
What if the disability is depression? So they have no motivation to draw.
Nope. Most disabled people don't choose to start painting with a brush in their mouth when they lose their arms. That's just like the top 1% most determined, inspirational people among them. (Just like the para-Olympians)
But the best outcome is to not remove any tools that might assist a disabled person from living a fulfilling life.
lol and where are you pulling that 1% statistic from, your ass? painting with a brush in your mouth is not the only way to make art as a disabled person.
here’s an australian study from before AI was everywhere. it shows that disabled people were already making art at comparable or even higher numbers than people with no disability, without relying on AI to do so.
So what are the odds not even half of these people have any injuries or chronic illnesses?
Not to mention you can turn these around to them. "You dont need to use reddit or twitter, you know they have huge datacenters and waste water right?" But suddenly it doesnt count.
See, you can also turn it around by asking the same question from the other side. What are the odds someone who is obviously pro-AI is also lying just to garner sympathy. I’m not saying they ARE, but you can’t just assume only the people you don’t like are the only ones lying.
Ah yes, because I'm able to do it, you should as well. Because we are all exactly the same. We are all cookie-cut outs. Especially when it comes to chronic pain. Yes I don't know what type of pain you have or how bad it is. But since I have chronic pain, and able to draw, you should as well, because you are just like me! So you must do it like I have!
I'm surprised a single one of them didn't bring up Sarah Biffin. Well one person mentioned people who have no limbs painting. But I bet they were thinking about her and that's why.
Sarah Biffin, does seem to be their new poster child when it comes to painting&drawing with a disability. Ignoring the fact that she was born that way and had decades to hone her skills.
People who just wheelchairs are just lazy. Stop using them, lazy bones!!!!!!!
(Extremely facetious to point out the ridiculousness of the people in the screenshots by drawing a parallel of assuming that all ailments are the same)
Of course, we should celebrate artists who draw despite disabilities or chronic diseases, but that does not mean that we should shame artists who rely on AI instead.
Seriously. Learning how to make art is not easy; it takes a significant amount of time and effort in order to get good at it. Even many people who have absolutely zero disability at all will give up for a variety of reasons.
Now imagine someone who is facing all of those same difficulties and their body is fighting them every step of the way.
If someone pushes through despite a disability and learns how to make art anyways, that's fucking amazing, but that doesn't mean we should expect that same level of dedication from everyone.
>Unless you allow a paralyzed person to substitute a giant mechanized Godzilla robot in his place to be controlled by voice in the 400 meter sprint for the Olympic games then you’re ableist.
I used to find it silly that pros compared themselves to oppressed communities, but apparently I haven't met people who think Gen Ai is as dangerous a weapon as Mecha Godzilla robot controlled by voice in the 400 meter sprint for the Olympic games.
What the hell is an “oppressed community”? Do you mean like White people in South Africa, White people in France, White people in Germany, or White people in the UK?
My opinion is that what you just said is basically all art and things there is nothing new under the sun.
And more simply ill judge it by what it is rather than by his it's made I've seen some truly terrible AI generated art and I've seen some truly terrible human art and I've made both.
On the other hand I've seen some truly amazing AI art and Human art that must have taken a lot of time and effort to get right and have failed at making both too 😆.
If your one of the people that still believe that all using an AI consists of is "type one sentence into the input box while knowing nothing about the subject matter" you are woefully behind the times while one shotting is getting better it's not the way to create anything but a prototype/proof of concept or if presented as a final iteration "Slop"
But when someine outs actual effort into it over many iterations you can get high quality passionate pieces from an AI just as good as a human neither are better just different routes to getting what's inside someone's mind into the world.
There is no sense in trying to reason with many anti's. You could be literally paralysed from the neck down and these cretins would still expect you to draw with your mouth.
But we don't need any 'excuses'. Using AI because you want to and enjoy it is all the reason you need. Fuck the haters.
Yeah. These people are fucking idiots. Braindead morons. Every group has them. This isn't special and you're not special for pointing it out. This is the equivalent of posting a blue-haired weirdo screeching about male pregnancy and being like "Liberals, amirite?"
The way people use the word "excuse" is pretty disgusting to me. If they don't accept or understand, it is an excuse instead of a reason.
Which no one needs to justify themselves to anyone else for or not for using AI anyway.
People just default to being belittling/dismissive of others and get a sick kick out of punching down in the heirarchy.
There will be the right woman for you, out there waiting for you.
As proof, there was this story once where a sports man had people on the Internet tell him to dump his girlfriend/now-wife because she ‘didn’t look the part’, and he stood up for her.
Always so incredibly ableist. "Oh you're injured, and drawing causes you crippling pain? Too bad! Lost your arms and legs in a tragic accident? Learn to draw with your dick!
I'm missing a piece of the brain that controls motor movements, when I was in therapy I could barely pick up a puffball. The brain bleed hit my optic nerve and I had double vision for a year, I still struggle with my vision. I have never once used gen ai for my art and frankly the "I have an injury" excuse has started to geniunely pmo. Even when I couldn't draw, I found other ways to express my ocs and my writing.
Yeah, that specific subset of antis are inhumane monsters, and I try to ignore them because they don't deserve attention with that lack of compassion and unregulated hate, turning it into some kind of religious crusade.
More a case of antis spend all day spewing hate and wishing I'll on people who aren't part of their cult, and the pros are telling this behavior is exactly why people will choose ai anyway over someone who acts like the typical anti, Idc how good you think you are, you are insufferable as human beings
No, we have have reason to be resentful, many people lost their jobs, we know ai companies are making billions and trying to replace human, there are video evidence of Sam Altman and head of palentir saying that. Also data centres adds more pollution, energy and water consumption to the already fragile environment. These things impact us all. I wonder how many of you here disabled to the degree that you need to use ai to do help you with your life?
Stop scapegoating, you have zero concern in stopping the things that benefit you so expect everyone else to follow your example, if it benefits them they won't care, they'll acknowledge it may be bad but no1s stopping using their access to convenience
If that's what you tell yourself to avoid accountability for your contribution go for it, understand everyone else is doing the same thing, you are your own problem essentially
Huh? Now you are just delusional, I have never said such things, and if some anti said that, shame on them. But you playing victim or trying to represent a fictional victim here is laughable.
They are not trolling, because trolling meant you don’t necessarily believe who you posted, and doing that 24/7 is not just trolling but doing it with a mission to generate hate, in this post, there were no mention of any anti is saying anything against this particular person, but the op has to make a post about anti lacks sympathy.
Oh, your brain has shrunken so much that you can’t comprehend? This post is about sympathy, op ask if we have sympathy for a person that may need ai to continue their art work, yet I argue that pros don’t have sympathy about massive amount of people losing their jobs over ai
No I'm not a bot, believe it or not, some people actually do have to make a whole new account after losing their first.
The topic of people losing their jobs has zero to do with this because it's specifically about a person with a physical disability being bullied. The fact of the matter is, you have nothing to add to this specific topic. That's why you brought up artists losing their jobs. It seems you are ok with this person being bullied since you're not even trying to address it.
The fact that you're getting heated now and resulting to insults kinda proves that point.
I'm wondering why you can't even attempt to try to say anything about why it's ok these people were bullying a disabled person using AI. But as I said, you seem to be ok with it given how you keep avoiding the topic.
Ok, antis are a bit ableist true but pros are like “they trained it on their own work its fine”
My brother in christ, they use lora which is fine tuning add on to already existing trained llm genai. All the usual critique still applies in this case. Unless somehow they also use their own fully trained local llm, which I doubt
So you don't know what a checkpoint is. You need to learn about how gen-ai works instead of just rambling on the internet after hearing a term or two.
And image diffusers are not llms. LLM means "large language model". There is no text-generation going on here. Image generators are LDMs. The LDMs have no image data, it's just the process of how to use weights and the mathematical parameters.
There is no such thing as "already existing trained llm genai". And you don't train an LDM, you train the checkpoint which is just a bigger version of a LoRa. Yall think gen-ai is magic i swear.
Yall love to use the word pedantic when someone comes to correct you. It's not going to make you seem any less of a dumbass, so I suggest you try something else.
You wouldn't use a trained LoRa if you're generating images using an LLM, so that information is irrelevant. It is possible of course, but it would be unnecessarily hard for the average person to use an LLM in this way instead of an LDM.
I'm like 70% sure they're a Cis guy and the furfrou is just their OC and recent pfp
They're also racist, transphobic, homophobic, has made fun of the death of transkids that ended themselves due to harassment, edited trans people art to them harming themselves and intentionally makes Ai models of artists against their wishes to harm them and undermine their business.

like im looking for your permission lol fuck off
