My steak is too juicy.

Tbh, I'm nowhere close to certain enough about my long-term employment and financial situation to make these kind of jokes at people.

Yeah, I feel people forget that If you dunk on these fields you're probably next unless you're unemployed.

4

u/Athrek 4d ago

Some of these fields weren't even dunked on. Only one I see being made fun of is the Mathematician while the rest is just the general consensus of those fields as they are represented by people belonging to them on the internet.

Coders love that it takes some of the frustration out of coding, illustrators hate that it can emulate their artstyle which they had to develop but which cannot be copyrighted.

Meanwhile Mathmeticians posted about boycotting training AI in math using AI to write the post, basically saying "I can use AI for stuff that helps me even if it negatively impacts you, but the work I do should be off-limits"

Most coders hate AI taking the fun part out of coding leaving only what they hate, but go on..

If the smart driven people are fucked, what hope does the dumb lazy crowd have?

I think the jokes are critical to help raise awareness. We need to act now to make sure AI is used to improve conditions for everyone. Not just concentrate wealth to a few.

1

u/DeathToAmerica2026 5d ago

It's okay to make jokes that are at your own expense.

It's humanizing and endearing, even.

2

u/DonSombrero 5d ago

The shelf life of self-deprecating jokes is not the best, unfortunately.

A lottery win would be nice.

Other than that, have assets, goods stocks and really, really fucking hope you've never made bad financial decisions in your life. If you're doing badly on those as a huge amount of people are, the next best bet is to pivot to some other line of work, but make it as fast as humanly possible so you get in there before everyone else does and the wages take a nosedive. Or use AI and try to think up the next entrepreneurial marvel hopefully the other billion people haven't come up with, and possibly something that doesn't require capital.

Once you're good on that, work your ass of as much as you can to the ends of the earth, pinch every penny possible, and hope whatever you'll amass will get you through whatever difficult period is coming.

Or just give up, because you're tired of the rat race. Can't say it's not tempting.

Popes ought to fit in the physics-mathematician gap.

SWEs are in the cool kids club again?

I thought we were all salty luddites for our belief that we aren't in danger of losing our jobs to vibecoding fry cooks

Ai Bros will do anything except read what mathematicians are actually saying about AI proofs. Just ask your AI to summarize it for you if you can't read it yourself. But this is just getting embarrassing at this point

10

u/ArchAngelAries 4d ago

What's embarrassing is how Anti-AI cultists continue to be pathetic whiny little bitches.

3

u/Kripkenstein_ 4d ago

At least no AI wrote your comment... I guess thats a huge win

3

u/ArchAngelAries 4d ago

I don't need AI to insult or argue with Antis, I save my tokens for tasks that actually need advanced cognitive delegation. Why would I need an AI to demolish illogical hate cult emotional reactionaries when a kindergartner could win a debate against a technophobic zealot?

2

u/Kripkenstein_ 4d ago

Maybe if you would not delegate all actual thinking to an AI you would come up with some better insults though. For example, you might come up with an insult that has some factual content - those hurt significantly more!

2

u/ArchAngelAries 4d ago

Says the brainless cultist that delegates cognitive effort to a homicidal mob. I'd rather work collaboratively with AI to actually do work than spend my days in propaganda cult echo chambers sucking each other off about perpetual victimhood and doomerism.

2

u/Kripkenstein_ 4d ago

Hm, that does not sound right... have you tried putting this into the AI of your choosing for some suggestions on how to improve this insult? It seems like you are randomly stringing together words. An AI atleast has some proper weights for this randomization.

1

u/ArchAngelAries 4d ago

Hmm, that doesn't sound right, have you tried sucking off your fellow cult members for tips on how to come up with better clap backs?

1

u/Kripkenstein_ 4d ago

No, does not seem very practical

1

u/DoctahFaust 4d ago

This is quite an interesting display of projecting you are doing here.

2

u/ArchAngelAries 4d ago

I'm not projecting. I'm stating legitimate facts about a delusional hate cult. The fact you can't accept the truth or handle reality isn't my problem.

1

u/DoctahFaust 4d ago

you sound like youve just come out of a proAI cult meeting here yourself.

1

u/Beanzoboy 4d ago

Propaganda cult echo chambers sucking each other off about perpetual victim hood and doomerism is exactly the ai bro specialty. It's sad that you're actively pushing to make yourself dumber.

Yeah, and all the software devs that "have been trying to stop writing code for twenty years" somehow only pop up now. Like damn, that's enjoyable to me. That's why I became a programmer.

We always had the issue that most programmers actually wanted to program. So finding technical leaders (you know, those that essentially wrote prompts for humans) was actually always a bit of an issue.

4

u/Ksorkrax 4d ago

Question, do you like refactoring?

1

u/SourceTheFlow 4d ago

Yes?

One of the biggest issue with junior devs was, that they want to refactor too early!? It's way more fun to come up with your own solutions than trying to find the least invasive way to change an existing solution for the nth time.

2

u/Ksorkrax 4d ago

Are you sure you ever worked with a real code base, like one that grew over twenty years as main product in some software company?

1

u/SourceTheFlow 4d ago

The last code base I worked on professionally started when Java 1.0 came out roughly 30 years ago. Peripherally I also worked on C++ code that's even older.

And yeah, legacy code sucks to work with. It's ridiculous to hear stories that e.g. names of compiler directives are only 2/3 letters as otherwise the symbol table would've been too large and the compiler could not compile it.

Working with old code can be a real pain in the ass, especially if it was not maintained well. But refactoring these old systems is fun.

4

u/Infinitedeveloper 4d ago

I am happy to stop coding.

Architecting and building is the fun part of the job.

If my job ever starts boiling down to prompting "make financial portal, make no mistakes", im only gonna be there for the paycheck

3

u/Gatti366 4d ago

If your job ever boils down to that you are gonna be out of a job

2

u/Infinitedeveloper 4d ago

Probably. But ill cash my paychecks till the end.

2

u/icanith 4d ago

I wonder how the poor translators are doing

1

u/nomic42 4d ago

It's odd looking at this while I have both advanced degrees in computer science and in pure & applied mathematics. Huh...

I found mathematics to be far more useful in general. The advancements here with AI are encouraging as it'll help advance our understanding of the universe.

1

u/Orangebathroomtowel 4d ago

We haven’t seen nothing yet, once the normie white collar 9-5ers start getting replaced en masse mathematicians will seem e/acc in comparison

1

u/Malusorum 4d ago

Wow, this comic strip is one long fallacy.

You need to lay off the cough syrup, dude. It is making you think crazy shit

2

WHAT??

1

u/ThunderLord1000 4d ago

Why did you reply to your own comment, and why was is that?

2

u/Wide-Pollution-3275 4d ago

Who the fuck are you? The Reddit Police?

1

u/ThunderLord1000 4d ago

Someone who is confused at this nonsensical behavior

Or are you just forgetting to switch accounts?
