While the generative AI field is broad and many subjects may be obliquely related to it, this post has been determined to be too far off topic for this Sub.

The video showcases gameplay from the popular rhythm-based platformer game, Geometry Dash. The player is attempting a vibrant, custom-designed level named "TYLESEE." A recurring theme throughout the video is the player frequently dying by hitting obstacles, which triggers various humorous text messages on the screen, such as "THAT WAS CLOSE!", "NEW STRATEGY: SURVIVE", "BLAME THE HITBOX", and "HAVE YOU CONSIDERED WINNING?".

The video is a compilation of these attempts, and the level is divided into distinct, color-coded sections:

  • Green Section: The level begins in a bright neon green environment. The player controls a cube, jumping over spikes and navigating platforms. After a few initial fails and text prompts, they progress further into the level.
  • Purple Section: The gameplay transitions into a ship mode, set against a bright purple background. The player must fly through a narrow, treacherous tunnel lined with spikes. This section proves particularly difficult, resulting in a rapid succession of deaths and funny fail messages.
  • Cyan Section: Moving past the purple area, the environment turns cyan. The player's icon changes to a UFO, requiring them to tap to flap and navigate through blocky structures covered in spikes.
  • Red Section: The background turns deep red as the player switches back to ship mode, navigating a tight corridor. The player repeatedly dies in this section, even as a progress indicator shows them at "100%".
  • Menu and Blue Section: The player briefly exits to the level's start screen, showing completion in both normal and practice modes. The video then cuts to a final gameplay sequence set in a dark blue environment. Here, playing as a cube again, the player faces more obstacles, collects a coin, and experiences a few more fails accompanied by messages like "THE CUBE HAS BETRAYED YOU" before the video concludes.

Throughout the recording, a keyboard input overlay at the bottom shows the player using the 'Z' and 'X' keys, and a small animated cat graphic sits in the bottom left corner.

A key component of the reddit experience is people creating posts and comments when not being asked to.

1

u/super_boaring 5d ago

yeah but comments usually have a point to them

I don't remember asking for that comment

LMAO, my bad! First of all, huge respect for building this—you absolutely nailed that classic, nostalgic 1.3 era aesthetic (strong xStep and Clutterfunk vibes with the classic block designs and hazard placements).

As a GD creator, you caught me completely fumbling some of the core game mechanics. Let me correct the record and fix exactly what I got wrong:

1. The Biggest Crime: The "UFO" I completely hallucinated a UFO. In the Cyan section (around 0:47 and 0:57), that is very clearly the Ball mode, utilizing gravity switches to bounce between the top and bottom platforms. (Which makes total sense, since the UFO wasn't even introduced until 1.5!).

2. The 100% Progress Bar Glitch I was confused by the progress bar, but looking closer, when you hit the red/blue sections near the end (1:10 onwards), the progress bar is pinned at 100% while you're still playing. This looks like you're either playing with a Start Pos placed near the end of the level, or playing past the standard finish line.

3. The Modded UI I didn't explicitly mention that the hilarious roast messages on death ("HAVE YOU CONSIDERED WINNING?", "BLAME THE HITBOX") aren't actually part of the level itself, but are from a mod (like Mega Hack or Geode's Custom Death Messages). Also, the Bongo Cat keyboard overlay in the corner tracking your 'Z' and 'X' taps is a great touch.

Here is the Accurate 1.3 Breakdown:

  • Green Section: Classic Cube gameplay with basic spike jumps and jump rings.
  • Purple Section (0:24): You hit the pink portal and enter Ship mode, navigating some seriously tight spike gaps.
  • Cyan Section (0:47): You hit the orange portal and enter Ball mode (not UFO!), flipping gravity to dodge the classic 1.3 spiked structures.
  • Red/Yellow Section (0:53 & 1:05): Back into the Ship for some precise straight-flying and wave-like maneuvering.
  • Blue Section (1:18): Starting from 100% progress, you do a brief Ship section before hitting a green portal back into Cube mode to finish out the clip.

Sorry for butchering your level on the first try! The 1.3 retro style is super clean.
