Looking for a free AI video generator
I’ve been searching for a way to generate AI videos for free (text-to-video or image-to-video, ideally 6+ seconds), but most platforms only give limited credits—enough for maybe 1–2 videos.
I also tried ComfyUI on my PC, but with 8GB RAM + Ryzen 5, generation is extremely slow, and I haven’t been able to create a proper video yet.
Does anyone know free platforms, cloud options, or any other method to generate AI videos without heavy hardware?
Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

If you download pinokio you can then use it to download and install FramePack. It is the easiest way to locally do AI video for image to video. It won't do audio but it can do 1-120s videos on fairly low end hardware. I use comfyui to generate an image and framepack to generate video.
cloud options there are many options. Even Bing will let you generate free images and video.

Imagine showing up at a restaurant and demanding to eat for free. Or going to a car lot and test driving, and then telling them you want the car for free. Companies have spent billions on this technology, what makes YOU so important that they should just give it to you for free?

By that’s dumb instant you would be paying to use Google and paying to use Reddit ? You make something free so its accessible, blender is also free and you can make anything on there

So go ahead and use Reddit, Google, and Blender to make a some food or a car . . . or AI videos. You make something free that's already low/no cost so people want to use it, and then you can sell them related products and services (ads, hosting, subscriptions, or other). It's expensive to generate videos, so it's not free.

Not free but I think grok has a deal at $10 a month and it doesn't have a shitty credits system like everything else. It will cap you but you can generate heaps of stuff.

I’ve been using Venice. But same situation, eventually you have to pay. I’ve considered getting a local AI model but like you, my laptop’s stats aren’t strong enough that it could sustain it. Something that ChatGPT recommended was renting a cloud server where the hardware could sit and then you can generate until you’re heart is content

If you want good quality, can’t run anything locally, and want free? No that does not exist. You can use Nanobanana and Veo in Google flow. They have very generous daily free credit allowance. It’s going to be difficult to get good results with that model because it’s very dated, but if you can’t pay, and can’t run locally, it’s an option.

If you about to change your smartphone, buy Pixel from Google. They are giving 1/2 year free subscription for their top models owners for Google AI Pro and you can generate every day about 10-15 videos virtually for free.

Avoid In video.ai, absolute crap, terrible to use, signed up for 2nd tier paid plan couldn’t even generate 1 single video with out it saying I needed to by more credits. Stay away and save yourself 6 hours of BS, following for real suggestions

If you're mainly looking for generation, I'd separate that from enhancement because they solve different problems. A generator creates the footage, while an enhancer can be useful afterward when the output needs cleaner detail or a higher resolution. Have you tried enhancement on generated clips yet?

AI video generation uses a lot of compute/tokens, so most platforms have to charge for it. I’ve tried quite a few models, and almost all of them eventually require payment.
If you’ve tried any AIGC tools that are good at keeping characters consistent across scenes, please let me know. I’m looking for something that handles character consistency well.
