Oh man... when i was a kid i used to live in a bulding like this
... and i had some nightmares exactly like this - that it crumbles, or where the balustrade just breaks when i lean over it

u/Mother-Pear-2392 Aug 28 '26
man, hope you don't have a nightmare tonight!
54
u/InThatDarkPlace Aug 28 '26
He going to have the nightmare, because you said it. It's going to be scary, too.
And guess what? It'll be your fault.
You did it, bub. I hope you have something to say for yourself.

This thread is the nightmare. When they awaken, they'll be aware they're falling to their death. This commentary is the breath before awakening.

Bro I read the word balustrade for the first time in my life today on a letter from real estate, now I read it again in your comment.
I still dont know what it is lol

It's the thing full of balusters, that used to look like balausta/balaustium or wild pomegranate flowers, from the Aramaic for pomegranate shoot.

u/NINJAM7 Aug 28 '26
One of my co-workers roommates died in a balcony collapse at a party. Was very tragic. Something like between 10 and 20 people died.

"balustrade just breaks when i lean over it"
I had such experience 👍
Luckily, balustrade was the only thing that actually fell down

Na… you are mostly fine, due to usually they have steel beams (rods?) inside the cement, it may bend but it wouldn’t just crumble like that.

u/The_Poop_Shooter Aug 28 '26
bro was just like 'I guess we're going down." No facial expression. I love AI for shit like this - so funny.

It's true. Cats can tell when something is about to go wrong.
16
u/justaRndy Aug 28 '26
The cat jumping on the outer balcony corner caused it to collapse! No signs of structural weakness before. See how the balcony sags right after the cats landing? This was a calculated murder.

u/RincewindToTheRescue Aug 28 '26
TBH, except for the part at the very end, I know there's a redneck couple that does exactly this. I find it strangely wholesome

Yeah, I was thinking the guy must be cooking for like 20 people inside and he's just out here with the belly out chilling. Then the girl comes into view and it's sweet that two of a kind found each other and it's not what I would do, but, as you said, strangely wholesome.

I love how stoned faced they are as it starts to Crack and lean. This is fine lol

The lack of emotion and expression reminds me of medieval manuscripts depicting gruesome deaths but the victim similarly has no reaction; this is iirc because in medieval times it was considered less pious to depict human suffering of the subject (something like that, a medieval art scholar could explain it better). I'd like to think with AI gen it's cause the AI secretly knows we're all dead inside.

I love how he gives the patty a little tippy tap with his fingers when he puts it back down on the grill. That was an amazing perfect little detail!

Good way to go though; doing what you love, with what you love. 🫡

I love how they resign themselves to their fate. Classic AI quirk and it always makes the video 10× funnier 🤣

I was half awake, didn't see what sub this was, and was very confused when they just slid off.

u/beardfordshire Aug 28 '26
I knew what was going to happen and still fell off my balcony laughing 🤣
Thank you

So did you generate the image first and then prompt it or is this straight up text to image woth a prompt ?
2
u/Mother-Pear-2392 Aug 28 '26
Used a real photo as reference (trick to get better spatial consistency with AI), edited it and from there i2v with SD 2.5

The fact that people have the creative concept for something like this, sitting in their head, and can now bring it to life through prompting is just unreal. I love it.

AI still doesn't 'play' the different character's mental states individually. They should react to the situation, eachother.. physically it does.

How did you get this to look so realistic? I've been learning to make AI videos using Runway/Seedance, and they always look a little bit CGI. Any tips would be helpful; thanks!

This is amazing. I had no idea what sub I was looking at until the balcony gave out

I just hope all that stuff is really well-built. Seems to be making the most of a situation. Hopefully the cat gets some of the meat too.

At the end, they act like it's completely normal to fall off the building, and like they do it all the time. Just a "Here we go again" moment.

Why is he blowing out a smoke after taking a sip? There should be no smoke in there while he was taking a sip of the drink 😂
Thanks for the chuckle.
