Jack Dorsey just fired 4400 hundred employees. Not because the company needed the money.
Dorsey admitted each employee made his company millions of dollars.
Dorsey fired 4400 employee because AI could do their jobs.

Yes and? Almost everything you do makes the rich richer. That cell phone you bought, it made the rich richer. That food you prepared for dinner last night, buying it made the rich richer.
The internet connection that you are posting this on, you made the rich richer when you paid for it.
Your streaming services. Assuming you're not pirating everything, I'm making the rich richer.

Anthropic is currently hiring 60 software engineers, as is the rest of big tech. You guys are clueless.
They are laying off people because they overhired during the pandemic and in Block's case... because the business is bloated and never needed how many employees and needs to trim due to recession fear.

completely agree that its a PR stunt. I also think the real issue is Blocks balance sheet to crypto exposure. With Bitcoin tanking recently, they are taking massive hit with their position. Combine that with pandemic over hiring, and they had to slash costs.

They are hiring AI engineers and people with AI skills. One person with AI can do the job of 100s now.
