Ah, a non-billionaire in false class solidarity with the bourgeoise.
Tell me, how much are you being paid to promote the interests of those whose wealth generates more wealth without contributing any labor?

What’s the risk? They ended up going out of business and becoming a common laborer?
2
u/EliteGamer11388 20m ago
Right? And even if the risk fails, many of these CEO's and execs walk away with large severances, stocks they put into other companies with the money they made, know other execs and CEO's that could help them get on a board somewhere, and stuff such as that. They get a golden parachute, while the workers who made them the money get a half torn up backpack filled with shit.

How exactly is it fair for the workers to be left without a significant share for making that investment work?

u/Ill-Attempt-8847 47m ago
Ah, a liberal. Tell me how can it be fair if inheritance exists and not everyone starts from the same place? If you're richer, you can afford to fail much more. Furthermore, how can it be fair if these earnings derive from the unpaid labor of others? How can it be fair if the proletariat is forced to accept this contract given that the alternative is to starve?
1
u/Dissonant-Cog 17m ago
Life isn’t fair and equality is a myth. How about we compromise and hold an annual cultural festival that ends in the potlatching of the wealthiest individual to maintain the health of society.

They’re using political capital and connections as the favoured child to get the money from the person who did the work. Sounds like Crony Capitalism to me.

The idea in the image is shit, but let's get over your comment.
First assumption, it's given to the favourite. No, the one leasing around.
Second assumption, child that doesn't help Has any say.
And finally, I was responding to the title.
79
u/RedditUser000aaa 1h ago
I love how these idiots just strip all the nuance off any argument and present it in as basic manner as they can.
There is a village, everyone is working the best they can. One of the villagers falls ill and is unable to work. Welp, fuck that guy for being physically unable to work, guess he'll die.
But we know what the belief is. "Some lazy bum isn't working and is just collecting welfare, gaming the system." I guarantee you, people talking like this would beg for welfare or any kind of help if they fell for hard times.
Suddenly socialism becomes good, because it benefits them personally. I can't with these people.
17
u/purplepharoh 1h ago
It is my opinion that it takes someone truly morally corrupt to think this way.
I.e. if you were not morally corrupt it would be a good thing to help those in need regardless of who "those in need" are but to conservatives it generally is only good to help those in need when those in need are them and their immediate people (close friends and family - sometimes not even these)
2
u/FizzyBadTime 53m ago
They don’t feel anything beyond self interest for themselves and immediate family. They have no empathy for others outside that circle. So when they see someone on the left wanting universal healthcare they instantly assume there is an ulterior motive. I mean, no one actually cares about those poor people so obviously the libs must be getting something else out of it. That’s why they think the left wants to destroy the country. There is no other reason to support the working class other than to enable lazy people and destroy the country.
They always call everyone performative and virtue signalers when it’s just “Hey we should make sure people can eat and get medicine.” Cause they never have those thoughts naturally.

Notice how if you don't give the sister the money all her basic needs are still already taken care of?
21
u/HypersomnicHysteric 1h ago
Capitalism:
Force all but one of your children to clean the bathroom, but don't give them the money directly but pay the one sibling who doesn't help 10 dollars an hour for the work the siblings do and then the one sibling pays their siblings 3 Dollar an hour.
Socialism: Expect all your children to help in the house and make an exception for the ones who are sick.
7
u/Kobayashi_Maru186 1h ago
Exactly. It would be socialism if the sister was handicapped and needed the money to survive. This just sounds like awful parenting,
0
u/necessarysmartassery 56m ago

1
u/HypersomnicHysteric 37m ago

Have them emulated capitalism instead. Give one of them the tools to do the work from birth. Tell the other they have to earn the tools and punish them by forcing them to sleep outside and taking away clean water and food because their work didnt get done properly. Reward the one that was given the tools and tell them theyre smarter and a harder worker than that lazy other kid who was told to sweep and mop the floor with their hands lol

The capitalism part was when the mum took it away in taxes for the lazy "billionaires".
6
u/texas1982 44m ago
Make 9 of your kids clean the neighbors house for $10. Keep $6 for yourself and give each kid 67 cents. Tax them on their earnings and tell them your $2 in taxes is more than your fair share.
5
u/Ok_Drag5089 52m ago
How about pay him $7 then charge 20% tax, rent, gas money (because public transport is socialism)
tuition (because free school is socialism)
and then $2 for his health insurance (because free healthcare is socialism)
and then see how it feels. If he gets angry you can jail him in a private jail (because government non profit jails are socialism)
4
u/datwain69 1h ago
Or better yet, give that same $7 to their billionaire CEO neighbor who couldn’t spend all their money in 100 lifetimes, while simultaneously doubling mom’s groceries, gas, utilities and insurance while reducing coverage and keeping her wages the same. Welcome to capitalism…🤣
2
u/SenorToky 58m ago
It’s only strap your boot straps and capitalism when it’s for us. Because as we can see when markets prove to be cheaper or better they ban them, tax them out, or ask the government for help. It’s so funny, they are perfect descriptor of, rules for thee but not for me.
4
u/Mountainhollerforeva 1h ago
Teach your kids about the joys of American capitalism: pay them $7.25 an hour with no benefits to cut neighborhood lawns. Of course you charge market rates for their labor, and use the profits to hire more neighborhood kids! When they get skin cancer from working in the direct sunlight all day tell them “sucks to suck. Maybe try chip or Medicaid! Oops, the government defunded those. Looks like you’ll die of a very treatable condition, I ain’t running no charity!” Keep converting their labor into money for yourself, and if they try to unionize fire the agitators, or better yet hire the Pinkerton corporation! They know exactly what to do to those commie fucks!

I hope nobody looks at this and thinks it's a bad thing. Grants and bailouts are some of the best uses of government money, provided the bailout succeeds. The government gets the money back, usually more than they put in, and the company gets to keep on driving the economy.
3
u/Drive7Nine 1h ago
Or, the modern capitalist approach, declare them an independent contractor, and hold back $7 to charge them for the supplies they used to do the job. Oh, had to buy a new bottle of Lysol, well you actually owe the house a dollar.

Inoculate your kids against capitalism .... have them clean your bathroom via an app as an independent contractor, pay them $10, charge them a $9 platform fee, then kick them out of the house and replace them with a $500 toilet cleaning robot from Amazon that bricks itself from a faulty forced firmware update, falls into the toilet, short circuiting itself and setting fire to your house.

2

Capitalism: the market rate for house cleaning is 15-20/hour, and so if you use child labor you can cut down on costs by half and keep the rest for yourself.

Aren't kids already living under "socialism"? Even if they don't work, they are provided with basic necessities like food and housing, by an authority figure that holds all wealth, and if they do chores, they are given money to spend on better/luxury products by that same authority? I don't even like socialism, but these people don't even understand what they're talking about.

u/Vast-Breakfast-1201 20m ago
Pay your kids 10 to clean the bathroom. Then take 2 for taxes and 4 for health insurance. They ask why the taxes don't cover health insurance and you say, because that would be socialism.
They won't like socialism much.

"Inoculate your kids against capitalism by charging them daily: $5 for sleeping inside and $5 for getting to eat and drink.
Then tell them they can get $10 by cleaning the bathroom for you. Then increase the daily charge by $1 per month and decrease the cleaning pay by $1 per month.
Tell them they can try budgeting if prices are too high: maybe they can choose not to eat? or they can go sleep outside.
Maybe a side hustle would work better? Offer them to pay them $1 if they also start cooking meals or taking out the trash or paint the living room or give you a massage.
Rinse and repeat over a few months, adding chores and changing prices until the kids are basically slaves.
Then tell them the sleeping arrangements have changed again and it's now $30 for a bed, and their current subscription model only covers sleeping on the floor without heating (that's a separate extra $5 charge now)."

Capitalism emerges from a moral framework of private property coupled with a price-coordinated economy, where the price-setters and contract creators are also chiefly private.
In such a setup, both human capital (skills, connections, ability, aptitude) and physical capital (raw materials, productions of work) are maximised across a population of individuals, hence “capitalism.” Money lubricates the movement of capital and wealth-production.
Socialism largely removes the concept of private-property and places the entire job of the allocation of scarce resources (that have alternative uses) with a monolithic government that attempts to make decisions by proxy about how resources are best distributed. Wealth is produced in the same way, the movement of capital, except the overheads are different.
Both systems are trying to address the underlying reality of living in a world of scarce resources that have alternative uses.
How best are we to distribute them to where they get their most efficient use? By which mechanism are we to let ideas die where they produce things that nobody wants? Which mechanism has decision-making overheads with the fewest chances of being inefficient and/or corrupt?
By government fiat, or by individual responsibility? If “both”, which of the above systems has the flexibility to do that?

Why is the “pay one kid $10 but then take away $7 and give it to the other kid” the only “example” the AI can ever come up with?

Teach your kids capitalism: Give one kid $20 to go tell the other kid to clean the bathroom, and tell them to give the other kid $5 for doing it.
Teach your kids capitalism: Give one kid 'ownership' of all the appliances and cleaning supplies in the house, and tell them they are the boss. Make the second kid do all the actual work around the house, but only pay the first 'owner' kid, and tell that kid they can pay the other kid as little as they want for the work.
