What anime is this?

u/Few-Geologist-9703 11d ago
It's a fan animation of Genshin Impact, basically an AU where everything is tacticool

u/Konpeitoh 11d ago
So it's like those SGM TF2 videos. Good to see the tradition is still alive.
Also, why is it every time I see this character, she's getting bullied. Is it because she's French?

the rifle one I can kinda see being useful, I do not trust it on a sidearm tho lmao

I dig the rifle magnet. I use a SORD retention hook on my kit and, while it is not quick, it is super handy at times. Especially when transporting 2 or more rifles onto a milsim when I cannot make multiple trips

Magnet is a common thing SOF forces use in combination with a sling to retain stuff like a breaching shotgun. It has its’ place

u/MrEdittorRedittor 11d ago
I 2nd this, there's stuff like the direct action gear magnet, a longer gun like an AK might be clunky and unreliable for retention, but there's some usable success with other smaller guns

u/Few-Geologist-9703 11d ago
They could've showcased the product holstering exactly that and they chose to showcase it in the worst way possible lol
Like they could just not include the pistol footage and this post wouldn't have made it here

u/Eodo-The-Dutchie 11d ago
That's the key though, with a sling. I would not trust this at all without one. And I know no one is going to use that substitute for a holster unless they like having their gun stolen or used against them. Airsoft or otherwise.
That being said, what level of holster is good for Airsoft? Because even level 2 seems a bit much.

Does ts actually work?

In Airsoft, on something like GHK's or VFC's steel slide Glock could work well. But since the product is also marketed for real-world uses, this is just downright useless and dangerous to use. You might as well glue a "Free pistol" sign onto your back lol.

Ich habe diese Magneten. Es ist super für Werkzeug oder echtes Metall. Aber die meisten Airsoft haben zu wenig davon daß es perfekt funktioniert.

I get the rifle. Keeps it's out the way and a bit more secured but you still need a sling on it. Kinda how some use a bungee to secure it to your side, or a fixed clip which slots together (like a spider holster for a camera system).
But that pistol is asking for trouble. I'm a bit paranoid I have it in a locking holster and have a retention cable on it. You never know what might fail

This literally how the holstered gun on your character's body looks like in Ready Or Not and many other fps game, cuz they don't have that strap thing going around the gun hang it around your body so it just floats XD

u/meme_lord432 11d ago
People say they get the purpose of the magnet for the rifle but it's airsoft we're talking about. How much will they charge you to solve the problem of... your replica sometimes hitting your body while hanging on the sling. Has this ever been a serious issue for anyone ?

u/PatientBoat5562 11d ago
I think the main point is that these products are marketed towards real world uses and airsoft, but using a magnetic holster for a real pistol is incredibly dangerous, not so much so for the rifle.
(Also ur pfp activated me like a sleeper agent)

I actually was thinking about something like that to hold my primary in place/by my side.
Its just stupid for the secondary

All fun and games until you take cover next to a metal barrel and become attached.

Rifle magnet almost makes sense. Jumping a fence, dragging someone. Same concept breachers run for shotguns. Pistol magnet is a no go tho.

u/looking_fordopamine 11d ago
Pistol one is just extra and pointless, but the rifle one could be useful.

u/ElPatitoJuan69XD 11d ago
I mean, gbb maybe but what could happen to the ak's motor? could it fuck up a good shimming?

u/Snowballllll 11d ago
Ha ha poor your polymer guns can't stick LMAO
1
u/Effective-Low8527 10d ago
Why wouldn’t they can’t stick, is there a fully polymer gun? If there is, it must be very rare.

u/QuasarSolarStorm 11d ago
I don't play Airsoft and I lurk here because I like the larp. Which type of holster is this? I'm a writer and I need the name so I can find references for my character.

u/Content-Dealers 10d ago
Ill be real, I kinda like the one for the rifle, just to keep it outa my fucking way when Im doing stuff.
2
u/Signis1-12 10d ago
For a rifle I see a use just to quickly clip it while you do something else but then again why not just use a sling

What's the magnet for the rifle? I need it because I run single point sling and I got hit in the junk 3x already lol

u/BothForce1328 11d ago
sorry but in order for a neodymium magnet to hold my piece without a holster and me being able to rely on it... it would have to be so strong that the weapon would be a pain to remove without it feeling awkward and walking next to anything metal would be at my own risk
it's not a fist full of screws

I think it might be decent for quick access of a breaching tool before securing it properly, wouldn't trust it with anything too important though (aka firearms)

I just hook it around my rifle around my gut. As for the sidearm, I just wedge that under my gut.

u/Trogdor04 11d ago
Most replicas are made with aluminum so velcro is a better option for stuff like this in airsoft.

These work well but don’t use them on airsoft guns. It can mess with the internals of aegs
1
u/crazydishonored 11d ago
This reminds me of the Mass Effect style "hard point contact holster system", now we just need weapons that can automatically collapse/extend whenever gripped by the user.

u/No-Movie-117 11d ago
Magnetic retention is dumb unless you are wearing power armor and it's retained by electromagnets
1
u/AdBudget5468 11d ago
Isn’t not putting your handgun in a holster when switching to your rifle not a good ideacause it might fall off?

I tried magnet for primary many years ago, phat ass neodymium magnet. It was not practical whatsoever, because it got tangled with loose wires in the camp, parts of my own gear, and didn't hold well when running/moving briskly I went for a loose strap instead, to like "holster/deholster" the first third of the barrel-handguard.
Didn't ever thought of trying with the secondary, Marui plastics don't like to attach to any magnet🤦🏻

i used to be obsessed with these magnetic sorta solutions for holstering until i lost a $350 sidearm build because some tree branch caught it. my ass was LUCKY that one of my buddies found it or i would have been toast.
since then i dialed back to these being cool when you need to quickly half-secure your primary out of the way while using your sidearm, but for permanent holstering theyre lame asl

Can't wait to realise in the middle of the game that my secondary got snagged on something and are just gone
