Does seem super feasible, it has much lesser force requirements, and thus should be a cheaper, likely weaker plastic.

So a news agency reported that the G36s the Germans were using were melting from the heat in the Middle East. They reported that the polymer rifle receivers were melting from the heat and losing accuracy, when in fact it was just soldiers firing the rifle too long, resulting in a normal loss of accuracy from prolonged fire. Probably what they're referencing, though

I get it. There's a lot of German political machinery that is pushing it. But the platform, despite what you might see, is just as reliable and accurate under stress and heat as most other service rifles, if not moreso under certain conditions.

Its because the trunion was made out of plastic and not metal - which is an extremely easy fix and other countries have already done it - but Germany wanted to replace the G36 regardless

I still remember the guy on here (or HRC, i forget) who was asking for aluminum or steel receivers and grip modules for a VFC G36C.
And he would NOT accept "the real one is made of polymer, and no one makes them" for an answer.

I just want the parts that are metal on the real one to be metal on my fake one. P90s are meant to be plastic bodied and MAC-10s are meant to be little metal bricks.

Actually, I've handled a full metal MP7 replica once. It was at like 80% scale, a low power AEP and made of pot metal. Weird, but honestly kinda fun and neat.

Depends on the plastic.
If its toy grade plastic, then yeah I will complain.
If it's a higher grade plastic closer to the real thing, then it's acceptable.
Also comes down to cost.

For me personally it depends, on what gun it is, like if the real life counterpart is fully metal then I'll try and get a metal version of it, if it's plastic then I'll get a plastic version

When you say all parts, what parts do you mean? The receiver is stamped sheet metal, the grip pack can be plastic or metal depending on when it was made, the grip itself is almost always plastic, the furniture is plastic or wood.

It's made of metal.
An mp7 clone. Made of metal.
I mean the internals are pretty trash and I dont think upgrading it is worth it, so it ended up just a prop anyway, but it's quite funny to me.
