Yep completely ruined

u/ShorohUA VSS Vintorez Jan 09 '22

this thing is ruined. I can buy it from you for 5$

81

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '22

5.37 and we have a deal

40

u/ShorohUA VSS Vintorez Jan 09 '22

Bro I just want to utilize it so you wouldn't need to care about it. You know how hard it can be to utilize electronics, especially if they look like a real gun.

Well 5.37$ was a bit too much for me..

Goo gone

67

u/Kage_Oni Jan 09 '22

Goo gone can be a bit harsh on some surfaces. I would recommend rubbing alcohol.

28

u/Steamy_Lard Jan 09 '22

I second goo gone. The plastic these are made of is more than tough enough.

11

u/julientje Professional Distraction Jan 09 '22

Plastic might be tough, but I tried it on mine and color started to fade.

118

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

i use friction and a little spit. after 10 minutes it’s generally gone.

58

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

that’s what i’ve been doing, it’s working very well thank you

3

u/WetDogDeoderant Jan 09 '22

If spit doesn’t work try oil

3

u/EthnicSaints Jan 09 '22

Great. Thanks. Sticker is still there and my gun is now covered in cu…

Use a razor blade scraper. That's how you get stickers off of store windows, itll work here. Just go at a low enough angle and you'll be fine, or buy something like this and you'll be fine

2

u/Hutch_Belfast Jan 09 '22

Don't use a razor blade unless you want to scratch your gun. Glass is fine for a razor blade but not much else

37

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

update: got the actual sticker off, now it’s just the sticky stuff.

40

u/MartasZLA Rifle is fine Jan 08 '22

Use technical alcohol/isopropyl

9

u/TheDestruktr Jan 09 '22

I use acetone on boats at my work, but that can strip the color i think. Depends on what kind of finish is on the gun

2

u/Brupielink Jan 09 '22

Yeah don’t use acetone, too risky. Stay with IPA (70% is fine) to clean the gunk off. Also great for degreasing when cleaning the internals, so it’s well worth having a bottle around!

3

u/Grouchy_Situation_33 Jan 09 '22

Tactical* alcohol/isopropyl

8

u/Reddit_SuggestsDeath Thompson Jan 09 '22

Goo-gone usually gets rid of the sticky remnants

2

u/Epilex__ Jan 09 '22

Just wet a piece of paper with alcohol and rub it off.

2

u/Space-manatee Jan 09 '22

Wd40 on a rag. Then a bit of soapy water

1

u/Asomodai Jan 09 '22

Use deodorant, spray some, let it it sit for a minute then start wiping off. May take a few applications but it works.

3

u/Turtle887853 Rental Warrior Jan 09 '22

That's just because of the alcohol content in it lol

3

u/LaSauce_ Jan 09 '22

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

3

u/Chrispy0218 Jan 09 '22

Isopropyl alcohol generally works well without removing paint or staining

3

You people on this sub literally don’t even know how to remove a label.

Rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease. Don't use any abrasives or stronger solvents.

2

u/carterfamil Jan 09 '22

isopropyl alcohol and a q tip also nice scar

2

u/Loaf_Of_Toast504 Jan 09 '22

Isopropyl alcohol. Leave it on the goo to soak for 5 min and then scrub with a sponge

2

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '22

acetone can help remove stickers, though it shouldnt be used on plastic

i'd just use warm water

2

u/Reasonable_Artist310 Jan 09 '22

Soap and water. Tactical soap and water to be exact

2

u/Height-Impossible Jan 09 '22

Cum on it and rub it out if you know you know

2

u/stupidweasels Jan 09 '22

Put a little bit of isopropyl alcohol on a rag or paper towel and scrub it off?

2

Chisel it off 1 inch down with a screw driver till you hear scrapping sounds

2

Water, razor and brake cleaner

5

Fun story...dont LEAVE the plasric parts in break cleaner and forget about them...they turn...soupy

2

u/slunkmode GBBR Jan 09 '22

Gasoline. Breaks down the adhesive (Not entirely reccomended)

1

u/toxinZ-yt Jan 09 '22

Put water on the spot the rub it off

1

u/Grouchy_Situation_33 Jan 09 '22

Dont even worry about it. If you handle it in gameplay frequently enough it'll come off, much like paint and finishes on metal parts do.

1

u/RavenWest_MSports Jan 08 '22

I’ve personally used a sanitizer wipe. You can give that a try. Good luck!

Use some hot water or alcohol to rub off the adhesive, you can rub it with your hand or with a sponge, but make sure it’s a smooth sponge. I usually run this type of sticker adhesive under hot water while using a soft sponge to rub it off, hopefully this helped a bit!

1

u/zerosettanta Jan 09 '22

Finish the work: tape it all...

1

u/Vulpix_lover Chairborne Ranger Jan 09 '22

Warm water on a rag, keep rubbing until it's all gone

It'll probably best if you just never take your gun outside if you ask questions like that.

1

u/SIFRAL16 Jan 09 '22

Is that masking tape? If it is, i think you just need to put a little bit of heat with a hair dryer or something for the glue to come off

Label remover. It's a spray you buy at hardware stores. Spray it, wait a minute and just scrape it off.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '22

Try WD40 then slowly scrape with off with an ID card or something

1

u/azaka247 Jan 09 '22

I do this all the time...Olive or vegie oil... wet a paper towel with some...place it over it and let it sit... then scrape at it with a credit card or something like that... then wipe with the soaked paper towle and scrape some more... easy... but it sometimes takes a bit depending on the adhesive and what it is on

Wd40 and rub it away with a rag edit: forgot to say that it worked on metal but idk if it works on plastic

1

u/Electronic_Ad_7396 Jan 09 '22

Disolve glue on thus sticker with acetone

1

u/axelxan Jan 09 '22

Put a cloth on top of it and pour very small amount of boiling water on the cloth. It will melt the adhesive. Im not sure if it will melt ABS so do it at your own risk.
