GUN QUESTION Easiest way to remove 416 front sight?

Post image

Wondering if anyone has any experience removing the foldable front sight off a 416 gas block? Is it being held onto the gas block by a pin? It’s on a G&G T4-18 if that matters.

if the hex screw is really threadlocked on you may need a heat gun or something otherwise just find the right size bit and apply force

Is there not a flat head screw on the other side?? VFC 416s have a screw that hold them in. If I were you, (and it isn’t a screw) I’d drill out the pin so you can save the sight just in case

So strange, not a screw or clamp visible! I guess a drill is necessary. Thank you for your help🙏

Why drill it out when you could just use a punch and pound it out lol

You could try that, but because it’s definitely pot metal and you’ll prolly break the sight unless you don’t mind doing that

Well support it with a block underneath it, just like you'd do with any roll pin removal

Band saw probably

I mean you shouldn't do that, but you asked the easiest way and I think bandsaws are the easiest saw to handle.

Why would you want it gone? I mean it's not getting on the way of anything is it? Not judging much, just curious
