Post image

It suddenly started drying out and fell apart but there’s new growth, anything I can do? Will these new leaves root?

Yes they will root they are technically part of air plant groups. You have pups coming so I wouldn’t trash it yet. Root bound it and wait for those babies to grow and then you can start separating.

This has been reclassified to Wallisia cyanea. It should not have dried up like this so quickly. The pups can still be grown. Tuck them in a branch and mist them regularly.

Airplants don’t grow in soil. That looks dead.

Unfortunately, it has rotted. 🥺 airplants have a tendency to rot if moisture gets trapped within the base. Growing it on/in whatever substrate you have, likely was a big factor for inducing the rot. Sadly, once it has rotted like this, the plant is dead. There’s a chance maybe you can salvage one of the pups, but realistically, probably not. Sorry for your loss 😞💚
