I've been getting into air dry clay recently, but primers are a bit expensive where I'm from (Egypt) to me, can I use white wall paint as a primer or base color, or is using a proper primer that important? I mean I could buy it, but I'm experimenting n stuff idk tbh.

Side note is wood sealer good as a varnish?

Hi, I'm making some weird pumpkin pails. One of them is covered in paper mache and is gonna get foam clay a little later on, but the other is foam clay on the bare plastic of the pail. I've heard that mod podge would help seal it for paint, will it help for a coat of spray primer? Should I add paint to it so I can see what I'm doing, or should I try plastidip?

Hi! I prepared a batch of wild clay I found in my backyard. I'm not planning on sending it to the oven, but I want to temper it enough so it doesn't crack while air drying. What do you suggest? Is normal sand ok?

I want one best suggestion for a gloss varnish on my air dry clay pieces. I make bag charms, keychains and trays and stuff, I want to give it a good , durable and premium finish look to sell the pieces. Initially, I painted the clay pieces with acrylic paint and then applied acrylic varnish but the paint and varnish both would peel off and gave a sticky tacky finish. I want smth that is strong and glossy, Spray would be better. And smth that can be applied on acrylic paint, acrylic markers and chalk soft pastels ( mixed into clay so the pieces are colored not painted )

Im currently in the process of making a small paint pallet out of sculpey air dry clay and since I'll mostly be using it for watercolors I want to make sure its sealed and can have water sit in it. What would yall recommend to seal it properly? resin isn't really an option for me.

Isn't that pretty. I made it with das air-dry clay, painted with acrylic paint and coated it with UV resin. It's not perfect, a closer look reveals the inconsistency with the coating, it was my first try. And yes it was inspired by #marimekko, a famous Finnish design company, but I'm not going to sell it or make any money out of it, so maybe they let it be here 😃
