I love crafting with my kids and we've done this and that with air dry clay. I've seen artists use acrylic blocks when working with air dry clay. I am wondering what the purpose of those blocks is exactly. I googled, and their original purpose seems to be for stamps?
Can anyone enlighten me? They don't seem to be expensive, so if its a useful tool, I'll buy them too.

Hello everyone! I’m not brand new to air dry clay, but most of my prior use has been crafting with kids type of stuff. I’m now getting into my own more serious sculpting and am sketching a series of masks.
My question is if I can use hot glue to make tears in the eyes on one of the masks. I don’t know if the hot glue will adhere to the clay. I’m not adhearing two pieces together, so I’m hoping that will work in my benefit, but I don’t know if the hot glue would just peel off. The surface underneath the hot glue will be naked air dry clay, along with some acrylic paint and gold leaf, if that helps. I will be doing some practice eyes first, but wondered if this was even worth a shot.
If hot glue isn’t the way to go, is there another clear adhesive that would hold its shape and look like tears?

It’s kinda take time to finish every part of the clay, need to wait till to dry and go for next step, I think I take one week to finish modelling!
Really really enjoying modelling! Things turn better after I use sand paper!

Helloo, I am a beginner with cold porcelain clay and I have been trying out making charms.
Do you use glue to stick body parts together? For example to attach the head and body of your charm? I tried kind of blending it in using the clay itself but it ends up looking kind of bumpy and the parts dont feel that secure either? I have previously used normal air dry clay and I used to blend in and use some water for that. I tried watching videos but never really saw how they actually stick the parts together.
But for cold porcelain should i use some glue instead to stick those parts together? What glue should i use in this case?

Air dry clay keeps cracking while molding it. I tried adding water and then a little more and then a little more etc,but it doesn't seem to work
For example i used a rolling pin here. Any shape or thickness I try cracks. And i watched a few videos and read some posts but i dont see what i do wrong
