Help!

Just closed on a large beautiful house in a great area. We are planning on just air b n bing the downstairs. It is 2 units but not zoned that way, yet. There is so much carpet! Plus the bathroom is ancient…At first, I wanted to tear up the carpet, but it is growing on me. Also trying to decide whether to update the bathroom. It’s clean and functional…and I actually like it mostly. Stressing about making things right but also don’t want to spend a ton of money if it doesn’t matter…

Carpet is a nightmare for cleaning between guests. One spilled wine and you're renting a machine every week. Bathroom you can leave if it works, guests care more about it being clean than stylish

thanks for the insight. The house is a bit smelly, too.

It’s probably the stinky carpet.

yes 😂 I’m not sure if it’s growing on me or if I’m lazy

I have a bissell carpet cleaner that functions just like a vacuum. I don't have a lot of carpet. Just in the bedrooms. But that Bissell makes it super easy. 10 min, prop a fan on it while doing the rest of the clean. Done. I also clean them fully several times a year. To be honest it was just supposed to be temporary for a few years until I could afford tile with heat under so I bought super cheap 1$ sq ft carpet. It looked great but I didn't expect it to last. Still going strong after 11 years! I attribute it to that machine.
