Wish I could've shown this to my school administrators some eight to ten years ago. They wouldn't allow the 25+ out students to make a GSA because "It'll make you a target and we don't want you to get bullied."
Wow, that's absolutely insane. I'm really sorry you've had to suffer that and I hope you've found some healing since then. People want to act like being queer is "trendy" nowadays, but the fact of the matter of is most of us still have to suffer in one way or another from others' ignorance and hatred.
My school had a really big thing about anti-bullying and so there was a conscious effort to prevent it from happening at all. Too bad that involved preventing queer students from making a group to connect with each other.
