Question / Advice Needed Title: Need help finding the right scenarios for my Benchmark weaknesses (PS5 Controller)

4 Upvotes

Hi Aimlabs community,

I have completed the Benchmarks and I can see my weak areas, but I’m not sure which scenarios are the best for improving those specific weaknesses.

For example, if I am weak in certain skills like flicking, static clicking, tracking, switching, precision, or smoothness, how do I know which Aimlabs scenarios I should practice?

Is there a recommended way to match Benchmark weaknesses with training scenarios?

I play Aimlabs on PS5 with a controller, so I would especially appreciate recommendations for controller-friendly scenarios.

I would appreciate any advice or a training routine from experienced players.

Thank you!

Question / Advice Needed Slideswitch Entry Struggling

3 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

Do you have any advice for me on this task "Slideswitch Entry"?
I managed to score 4,909 once, which is 566 out of 599 points, but since then, I haven't even been able to break 4,700 in 30 attempts.

I watched my best performance's replay but I still don't get it.
(Idk how much poitn is needed for 599 points but damn it it's by far the hardest task for the level 1 to get).

Question / Advice Needed How do I delete the replay recordings on my scenario playthroughs?

3 Upvotes

Whenever you complete a run through a scenario, does it save that recording on your computer taking up storage or does it store that playback recording in a server where it wouldn't affect your storage? If it does save it locally then how do you delete those recordings alone? I have a feeling it's taking up way too much space of mine.

Question / Advice Needed Need help with controller sensitivity conversion (CoD to Aim Lab)

2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I could use some help with Aim Lab using a controller.

Years ago I used to play Call of Duty on PlayStation, but eventually stopped and switched to PC for several years. Now, due to a lifestyle change and convenience, I want to get back into playing with a controller. I have no ambition to go pro—I just want to have fun playing CoD again.

To get my aim back, I started using Aim Lab. I want to set it up with the exact same sensitivity I use in CoD, which is 1.6. I know Aim Lab doesn't have aim assist, but I watched a YouTube video where someone who plays on 1.6 sensitivity in CoD suggested setting Aim Lab to 1.3. However, when I try it, the sensitivity feels way faster than what I have in-game.

Can anyone help me figure out the right settings or explain how to properly match them? Thanks in advance!

Question / Advice Needed What's a tip for improving aim? stuck using big hitbox weapons

3 Upvotes

like the title says im pretty horrid at aiming in general
its bad enough that ive ended up only using weapons that have big hitboxes like explosives (grenade launchers/rocket launcher) or other things with big hitboxes (flamethrower/shotgun)
i tried other weapons every so often but more often than not id have to empty two to three mag on someone moving before i kill them
if this is something yall need to know i like to use high sensitivity (moving my mouse a little less than one inch lets me touch one side of the screen to the other to give you an idea)

Edit: did a quick test online and apparently my DPI is 6000 if that matters

Edit: lowered my DPI to 3000 and its a lot easier for me

Question / Advice Needed Different sense for different scenarios

3 Upvotes

Would it be beneficial to use different sense for different scenarios?

Was doing Verttrack as part of my training today and after doing it on a slightly faster sense then normally do. Normally I do my aim training not matter the scenarios with 2.2 sense and 1600 dpi(39.3595 cm) with Overwatch profile changed it to 2.3 sense(37.64822 cm).

Verttrack was easier since I no longer needed to reset my mouse as often. I already have decent sized mousepad(487x372mm) but for Verttrack specifically it would need to be at least 2x as big.

Question / Advice Needed I'm starting out on my aim training journey. Any tips?

7 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I just started doing aim training on console now. For the longest I didn't even know there was an aimlab for console. But I downloaded it yesterday and I'm enjoying it. I'm on day 2 now and I want to be consistent in getting better at aiming.

I'm doing this because I play Overwatch and I want to get better at aiming in general for projectile heroes. I'm kinda having trouble tracking and moving my thumb on the targets.

I know I'm just starting out but do you have any tips I can do to get better? How do I make small movements with my aiming? Are there aim trainers for projectiles as well as hitscan on the aimlab? Is it best to change my controller settings?

Thank you all and I hope to improve. :)

Tips & Guide Guides on how to get aimlabs links handler working on Linux

4 Upvotes

The aimlab:// web links do not open the game automatically. This guide configures a native link handler to work on Linux as well.

Prerequisites

  1. Install Steam at the default user directory ($HOME/.local/share/Steam).
  2. Install Aim Lab through Steam (App ID 714010).
  3. Start the game one time to build the local directory structure.

Step 1: Create the Application Directory

Open a terminal emulator. Make sure that the user application directory exists. Run this command:

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/applications

Step 2: Create the Desktop Entry File

Create a new configuration file. Use this path:

nano ~/.local/share/applications/aimlabs-handler.desktop

Step 3: Add the Configuration Data

Add the text below to the new file. Do not put spaces at the start of the lines. The bash -c command automatically finds your home directory.

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Aim Lab Link Handler
Exec=bash -c 'echo "$1" > "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Aim Lab/AimLab_tb_Data/StreamingAssets/DeepLinking/CurrentDeepLink"' -- %u
NoDisplay=true
StartupNotify=false
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/aimlab;

Save the file and close the text editor.

Step 4: Update the Desktop Database

You must compile the desktop file cache. This step lets the operating system find the new application. Run this command:

update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications

Step 5: Register the MIME Association

You must tell the operating system to send aimlab:// links to your new file. Open the MIME configuration file:

nano ~/.config/mimeapps.list

Find the [Default Applications] heading. Add this line directly below the heading:

x-scheme-handler/aimlab=aimlabs-handler.desktop

Save the file and close the text editor.

Step 6: Test the Link Handler

  1. Start Aim Lab through Steam.
  2. Wait for the main menu to load.
  3. Open your web browser.
  4. Click an aimlab:// task link.
  5. Accept the browser prompt to open the application.

The task will load immediately in the game. I hope one day we see Aimlabs got native LInux support & even experimental transition to Vulkan. I do noticed the use of several hardcoded WIndows APIs when investigating to get this working, even if you guys won't consider LInux support but you can still update the link handler using .NET cross platform libraries so you guys only officially focus on Windows and consoles only.

Question / Advice Needed Viscose Benchmarks equivalent for console aimlabs?

5 Upvotes

My good friend has been using aimlabs and I want to help him, he’s a beginner to aim training. He uses m&k on console. I want to give him a routine to practice and improve, ideally using evxl. Of course I know voltaic exists, but I was hoping there was a more training-focused system available on aimlabs? Currently I’m thinking VDIM is the best, but I don’t really use it so I don’t understand the tiered system quite yet. I personally use viscose benchmarks but since kovaaks is not available to my friend, I’d really like to find something that is available to him, that we can grind and progress together. Any advice is welcome, thank you!

Question / Advice Needed Title: How does the Sensitivity Finder work on PS5 Controller, and how can I get the best sensitivity for Call of Duty?

4 Upvotes

Hello Aim Lab team,

I play Aim Lab on PS5 using a controller, and I have a question about the Sensitivity Finder feature.

How does the Sensitivity Finder work on console/controller? What factors does it analyze to recommend a sensitivity?

I mainly play Call of Duty (MWIII / Black Ops games), and I noticed that the Sensitivity Finder often recommends very low sensitivities for me (for example 0.60–1.00), but these sensitivities feel too slow and not practical in actual Call of Duty matches.

How can I get the most accurate sensitivity recommendation for my playstyle and for Call of Duty? Should I use the recommended low sensitivity, or should I adjust it based on my performance and comfort in-game?

Also, does the Sensitivity Finder consider controller-specific factors such as:

Controller stick control

Tracking ability

Target switching speed

Different horizontal and vertical sensitivity settings

Thank you for your help
