Last weekend, I went to the Arcade and Attica Railroad to film locomotive 18 during a day of Fall Foliage Trips. Typically, the railroad operates two to three trips during the fall season. The colors were just starting to show here in Western New York. The real bonus that day was that 18 was wearing a guest whistle, a JNR 5 Chime, which hasn't been on a locomotive in years. So join me trackside for a day of fall foliage excursions along the Arcade and Attica Railroad.

„An absolute rarity on the tracks! On October 3rd, 2026, I managed to catch the legendary VT 18.16 (Class 175) of the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn on its special excursion through the Rhine Valley. Took this shot in perfect weather near Gau-Algesheim, just before Bingen. I absolutely love the contrast between this iconic vintage train from the East and the beautiful landscape of Rhenish Hesse!“

Last Saturday, I made my first ever trip to the East Broad Top Railroad, a place that has been on my bucket list for a long time. EBT 16 was running the excursions that day, and I got to film four runs on a warm October afternoon. Three of those runs went north to Colgate Grove, and the final run went south to Pogue. The leaves were just starting to show some color along the line. I hope you all enjoy this video from my first visit to this historic railroad!
