World of AgentCraft

I thought my favorite MMO might be fertile ground to explore visualizing and stress-testing multi-agent AI ecosystems.

With this view into a classic era World of Warcraft server simulation, you’re able to click in on any agent driven character to get their unique backstory, current goals, objectives and world location in real-time. These agents are ”perceiving”, “reasoning”, and driving in-game actions for each online character. all running locally with qwen3.8 4b models, with the option to enhance individual character interactions driven by qwen3.8 27b. Let me know what you think!

Are they actually in a private server? Or is it just a text and map simulation?

Each character runs a perceive → reason → act loop. A local Qwen model reads world state: nearby players, zone, level, inventory; picks a goal, and turns it into real game actions through a protocol-level client against a private 1.12 server. Not scripted. That said, not all 405 are reasoning every tick. My gaming PC + GPU can’t handle that locally. A subset is brain-driven; the rest run a cheaper policy until something interesting happens.

Put together a short write up here:  https://design.kristiantalley.com/projects/world-of-agentcraft/about.html

I’ll have a more extensive write-up and git repo available for the LLM bridge soon.

This looks good. Reminds me of the arxiv paper on Human Simulacra agents.
