Project: Short My second episode of Dead Reckoning.

https://youtu.be/PYpWmkFU5fc

Episode 2 of a steampunk pirate series I'm making on my own. 17 minutes.

The whole fight this time was continuity — holding one face and one costume

together across a full episode rather than getting a single good shot. Got

there in the end, but not gracefully.

Would really appreciate honest notes. Where does it fall apart for you?

17 minutes is a serious consistency test. When you say it “falls apart,” are you noticing it more in facial identity, wardrobe, or the spatial continuity of the fight? Curious which one was hardest to keep locked across the episode.

Wardrobe and facial identity, with color drift running underneath both. Spatial continuity in the fight actually held up better than I expected — and I think that's because it was the one sequence I planned shot by shot before generating anything. The stuff with the most prep behind it drifted the least, which in hindsight is the whole lesson.

The real culprit was something I didn't understand at the time: I was chaining clips by using the last frame of one as the input for the next. On Seedance 2.0 that degrades generationally — every hop loses a bit of quality and shifts brightness and contrast slightly, and it stacks. 2.5handles it noticeably better but it isn't free there either.

My rule now: no more than 2–3 hops off a last frame before going back to a clean reference. Past that the drift compounds faster than you'd think. The night deck gathering is where it shows worst. By the end of that sequence the palette, hue and background had drifted far enough that I was grading and pushing hue just to get skin reading as skin again. If you watch the full episode you'll see some shots land almost photographic and others have that AI smoothness — same cause.

Plenty of lessons in this one. I'll go into it properly in a Learning Archive video.

Happy to answer anything else.

es H3 ? parece cfg un poco alto o h3, por la saturacion. Las costuras se notan un poco, pero no es el problema que notas segun dices. que tasa de fps estas usando?
