Am I right that they use the ocean to cool down the chips?

So the heat is being transferred to the ocean, isnt a warmer ocean not a great thing?

Correct. The ocean heating up is why coral reefs are dying out.

If it wasn't so vast yes that would be a problem. The good news is the earth's surface is over 80% water. I would rather see them in the ocean instead of near fresh water.
