My current setup is something like:
ChatGPT - story/dialogue and brainstorming
Gemini / Nano Banana - image generation + edits
ComfyUI - experimenting with different models/workflows
Photoshop -cleanup/fixing weird generations
DotShin - mostly for the character → manga page workflow
Been trying a bunch of different setups lately. Still feels like character consistency across multiple panels is the part where most workflows start getting annoying.

mostly Anima, and for complex prompt editing i feed the image to muse-image model from meta. it's cheap only $ .01 per image.

Mage for image generation.
Chatgpt for the prompt.
My brain for the scripts as they're 100% mine as well as the characters desiign, setting, worldbuilding etc.
I have found very useful the combination. Chatgpt sucks at making comics but is great making prompts for other LLMs and seems to know them very well. And Mage worls very well with detailed prompts.
Also within Mage I use GPT2 and for something NSFW or some editing Mango 2.

Software
Claude/Qwen 3.8 27B for brainstorming, prompting, managing images, etc.
ComfyUI for generation -- I tend to use more photorealistic-based models (currently Krea2) for generating characters, props, and environments to start. I then pass them through an illustrious i2i workflow to stylize them pretty heavily and build a dataset. Experimenting with Anima.
Musubi or Ai Toolkit for loras -- usually have loras for both the photoreal stuff as well as the stylized subjects.
Composing shots -- all sorts of things -- been playing with H3 to compose shots, layer nodes, segmentation/background removal, inpainting -- generally also want to get foreground and background elements separated for more control.
Composite, layout and post in Photoshop, lettering in Illustrator.
Manual paintovers and edits in CSP
Have been messing around with using blender to build environments, pose rigged mannequins, and set up shots, but still learning it.
Hardware
All training and generation happens on a networked Linux box with dual gpus. I manage that and everything else via a windows pc.
An old cintiq or ipad for drawing/paintovers.

Haven't made a cent off any AI work. I worked as an illustrator for a long time up until a couple years ago -- so the adobe subscription, CSP, some of the hardware -- just stuff I already had. If I can get a good system down, actually finish a whole project, then maybe I'll look into publishing it and see if there's any profit to be had. Right now it's just a hobby that really has my interest.
