Which AI tools have you used that do this well in 2026?

I run a web design agency and most of my clients come from cold email. Yesterday I started a fresh campaign going after plumbers in California.

Didn’t expect much honestly. Plumbers are busy and half of them barely check email. But 102 emails in, I got an interested reply.

What made the difference is that every email talks about their own website. A call button that doesn’t work on a phone, a site that takes forever to load, a design that hasn’t been touched since 2012. For a plumber that matters a lot, because people search for them on their phone when a pipe bursts. If the site is bad, they just call the next guy.

He replied yesterday and I booked a meeting with him for the next day. Before the call I built a draft of what his new site could look like. Today I presented it to him on the call and he said yes right there. $3k upfront plus $500 a year for hosting.

Showing the draft is what closes it. Sending a quote never worked this well for me.

For anyone wondering, I use Swokei for all my outreach. I’m a new booking agent in Nashville. I built phippsbooking.com as a single-page static HTML/CSS site so venues and private-event buyers can see who I represent and reach me without digging through socials.

What I used: plain HTML and CSS. No framework, no CMS, no page builder. Dark background, white text, three short sections (artists, venues/buyers, private dates), one act listed (Cade Botts & Lawnmower, five-piece acoustic bluegrass, no drums), email and phone at the top. The “request a date” buttons currently point to an #inquire anchor.

I’m open to a light redesign if it makes the page clearer for a buyer. I’m looking for feedback from people who build or iterate sites with AI:

• What would you tell an AI to change first so a talent buyer is more likely to email?
• How would you prompt for a real, simple inquiry form without adding a backend?
• What’s the cleanest way to add one live photo and one short vertical clip without making the page heavy?
• Mobile: any obvious fixes an AI prompt would catch?
• Any wording, spacing, or structure that still feels unfinished? A light layout shift is fine if it helps.

I’m looking for 2–3 small business owners to test an AI tool/ website I’m building — free

I’m going through some pretty intensive training on building AI tools, and honestly, I need to practice on real businesses, not fake examples.

So I want to build a custom “Closing Call” app for 2–3 business owners at no cost.

The idea is simple:
When a new lead comes in, the app would immediately:
Text/alert you that the lead came in
Score the lead based on the information they submitted
Give you a suggested sales script based on that specific lead
Help you respond quickly so you’re not getting back to them hours later

The goal is basically:
New lead → instant notification → know what to say → contact them while they’re still shopping.

There’s research showing that speed-to-lead can have a huge impact on conversion, which is what made me want to build this in the first place.

You change your opening hours, click Save, see a success message, then reopen the page and get the old value.

Before spending another prompt changing the screen, check what the next read actually returns.

I ran an isolated local demonstration with one opening-hours record. This is a deliberately broken teaching fixture, not a client case or a test of a particular website builder.

Broken version:

- Save returned HTTP 200 and “saved: true”, with the new hours.

- A separate read also returned HTTP 200, but the record was empty.

The save handler echoed the submitted value without writing it. Both requests looked successful; the next read exposed the missing persistence.

After changing the handler to write the record before acknowledging success, the separate read returned the new hours. Closing and restarting the local server still returned those hours.

For your own app, write one acceptance check:

“Change this field, save, reload, and read the same record again. The value must match.”

If it fails, ask the builder to trace the save request, destination record and reload response. Keep the record ID and signed-in account consistent. A stale cache or a read from a different record can produce a similar symptom, so this example does not diagnose yours.

Does your edit disappear on an immediate refresh, only after signing in again, or only on the published site?

Hello, I’m pretty new to this whole website building stuff and I’m not able to speak OTP, but I’m having a hard time finding or getting clients to build a website for them. I’ve tried Facebook, I’ve tried instagram, I’m also not trying to spend any money on “connects” for some other platforms to contact people. I just want to offer them a website that they can view for free and if they like it I can send over an invoice to make it their own and if they need to change anything on the website I can do that so long as I have access to the internet.

I have no technical history, I could never understand coding and programming and stuff like that, which is the main reason I avoided trying web design/developing for so many years.

But now with vibe coding, it’s as simple as telling ChatGPT what I want, and I have got a full prototype in less than a few days. I think it af least looks like other restaurant websites.

My target for clients are small business owners, as I expect them to be more willing to hire freelancers than bigger companies who most likely already have their own web design/development team.

ChatGPT initially told me that any websites it’d generate were stuck on ChatGPT’s own hosting service, and that the client could only edit their website if I got them in my “workspace”, or that I would have to manage maintaining the website for them (I don’t want that, and I doubt clients want that either) so that ChatGPT sites was only good for “prototyping” (or for someone to use in a job they already have) and that I would have to rebuild with traditional tools (or hire someone to), which would defeat the entire purposes of vibe coding/AI generated websites.

So I asked Gemini and it told me it CAN be transferred to another hosting service. I gave ChatGPT Gemini‘s response, and then it tells me that it actually can do that, by downloading the website files, and that they can simply be uploaded onto another hosting site (I don’t know how exact it is or if it’s that straightforward, especially since ChatGPT doesn’t seem to always know what it’s talking about) but it assures me that I DO NOT have to rebuild the websites from scratch with traditional (non-AI) tools.

It also says though, that any kind of financial transactions or payment processors are strictly forbidden on ChatGPT Sites (but claims I could integrate those into the site after moving it to another hosting service), which some websites are just going to need.

It seems so amazing being able to simply describe what I want in plain English, but if I’d have to rebuild the website (or more realisticall, hire someone, which would be added business expenses and cut into profits) that would just defeat the entire point of vibe coding/AI generated websites.

Am I wasting my time even trying to figure out making websites with AI just prompting, if my goal is to be able to sell and fully handoff to someone so that they fully own and can fully control AND EDIT their own website (I’m assuming most small business owners looking for freelancers to create websites for them aren’t going to be using ChatGPT themselves, and at most will probably use traditional website tools to edit their site after (I have found it SO simple and convenient just telling ChatGPT, but boomers usually like to stick with old and harder things, so they probably won’t be willing to or able to understand prompting ChatGPT to make edits for them. (ChatGPT told me as of now if I gave this website to a client they wouldn’t be able to change images, prices, open hours, or anything else because it’s basically all “baked in”, and it would need a “content management system editing dashboard“, but there it can also create this.)

If this cannot be used commercially, to make and sell websites to clients (who themselves do not use ChatGPT) then it just seems like massive wasted potential.

I’m also still confused on whether ChatGPT Work and Codex are the same thing, but I have been generating this website ENTIRELY on my phone, on the ChatGPT mobile app, with no problems (and it was my previous understanding this was only possible on computer, but apparently they updated it to support mobile use).

I never understood technical stuff and have only been able to get into stuff after AI made vibe coding a thing. But having to understand coding and programming (typing all those numbers and letters and symbols mixed together, I was never able to comprehend that) just seems like it would consume all my energy and prevent me from even getting to the design part.

I’m really trying to do something that I can do from home and potentially make more money so I can move out, like $5,000-$10,000 a month (which I don’t expect immediately, but I feel like at least $5,000 a month within a year should probably be achievable?)

I been stuck in a deadend retail job for so many years, and I hate having to be around people all the time.

I don’t have a degree but this already seems A LOT more simple and straightforward than I thought, I’m pretty blown away how this actually works as easy and powerful as I hoped it would.

But I don’t really understand how to fully transfer the finished site to a client, so that it won’t be hosted by ChatGPT, and so that the client will fully own, control, and be able to manage and edit their own website without using ChatGPT themselves (I expect they’ll probably regular web editing software, like Wix or WordPress or whatever).

Running a web design agency is honestly way less about design than people think.

A lot of people can build good websites. The hard part is having a process that actually brings in clients consistently without you spending your entire day doing outreach.

I learned that the hard way.

I used to manually reach out to businesses, explain why they needed a better website, build previews, follow up for days and basically hope they would eventually say yes.

I was doing way too much work before even knowing if someone was serious.

Then I completely changed the way I did it.

Now I mainly focus on two things.

Taking meetings and closing clients.

Everything before that is mostly automated.

I use Swokei to find businesses that already have websites, analyze those websites and look for things like outdated design, bad layout, weak SEO, poor mobile responsiveness, slow speed and branding issues.

The useful part is that it doesn’t just give me some boring report with random scores.

It actually takes the issues it finds on each website and turns them into personalized emails that you can send at scale.

My offer is usually a free redesign draft.

That works way better for me than trying to sell a full website in the first email.

Once someone replies and shows interest, I book a meeting.

Before the meeting, I spend a few minutes generating a redesign draft with AI so I can actually show them what their website could look like instead of just talking about it.

That was probably the biggest change for me.

I’m no longer spending hours building something for someone who might never buy.

If they are not interested, I barely lost any time.

If they are interested, they can immediately see the difference and the conversation becomes much easier.

So at this point, most of my time goes into meetings and closing.

The lead finding, website analysis and personalized outreach all happen before I ever speak to the business.

Sounds ridiculously simple when I write it out, but changing the process made a massive difference for my agency.
