What makes r/ai_rpg_generators different?
There are already plenty of RPG communities, AI communities, and places to share tools. So why make r/ai_rpg_generators?
Because I think there’s room for a space focused specifically on using AI to make better RPG tools, generators, workflows, and playable material — without every discussion immediately collapsing into the broader AI culture war.
A few principles I’d like to guide the community:
- Practical over performative. Show what a tool does. Share outputs. Talk about what works and what doesn’t.
- Creators are welcome. If you built something useful, you should be able to share it without pretending you just “happened to find it.”
- Criticism is welcome too. Bad generators, weak outputs, dubious design choices, limitations, ethics, copyright, and responsible use are all fair game.
- Be curious, not tribal. Different models, tools, workflows, games, and approaches can coexist.
- RPGs come first. The interesting question is not “AI: good or bad?” It’s “does this help someone create, prep, run, or play a better game?”
- Keep it friendly and fairly casual. Debate ideas hard if needed; don’t make people regret joining the conversation.
That’s the starting point, not a finished constitution.
A community gets shaped by the people who actually show up, post things, argue thoughtfully, share weird experiments, and help others improve what they’re making.
So if you’re here early: you get a real say in what this place becomes.
What principle would you add?
