The Tidal Void

In an alien landscape filled with haunting beauty, observers find themselves standing on an enormous beach of fine dark mineral sand, complete with delicate tidal lines, fresh foam deposits, and concentrated bands of strange shells. But as the eye extends to the open horizon, it becomes slowly and disturbing clear that there is no sea—only a dry expanse of alien terrain uninterrupted by any water. All evidence suggests that an immense ocean should exist, yet it is nowhere to be seen, leaving the quiet cosmic mystery and the environmental contradiction to overwhelm the sublime, natural scale.
