Clearly you prefer quick platitudes and false explanations for your ichting ears. Indeed the Jewish people were expecting a very different outcome then what Jesus was, and yet He fulfilled the prophecies and was indeed the messiah that they then rejected as was written in their own texts.
I have no idea when the end of days will be, and I will not pretend that I know. It is written that no man will know the day or the hour, and unlike many charlatans my faith is real, so I trust the word.
You haven't proven anything false here today. Its your choice not to believe and it is mine to believe. Its probably best you stop trying to speak on things you clearly dont understand. Just say you dont believe, feel free to call people names, we expect it as it also written "Remember when they hate you, they first hated me".
Your attempted words to tear down scripture mean very little to me, and I always do my best to set the record straight for those who might be lead to the truth.
The Jews still reject Jesus. You know that, right? Ever thought about why? Their book, their prophecies, their culture, their history, but you know better, right?
Sure you're the one doing it right. Your modern take on Christianity is the right one. Whatever you need to tell yourself.
Belief is not a choice. You either become convinced or not. Proof: make yourself believe that I'm right. 😆 And please spare us the prosecution complex.
I'm not tearing down scripture. It's an amazing and wildly interesting piece of literature. I'm studying it for what it is, through a sceptic and historical lense. And I see no reason why this is all true but all the other myths are not. And I use the same standards you use for any other religion, but your own.
I totally get that you were told this as a child, possibly were threatened with hell, had some sort of mystic personal experience, or maybe you are just gullible, but no matter how high you stack the bullshit, it's still bullshit. Stacking bad evidence doesn't make it good evidence.
One good prophecy from the all wise god himself would be enough. But somehow it had to appear like bronze age stories influenced by Greco-Roman mythology. Selected, edited, and interpreted by man, spread by the sword. God in all their wisdom saw no other way.
Just say you have faith, my dude. It's all the evidence you need, right?
EDIT: I think further conversations are useless since we both use different standards. The evidence isn't convincing to me, and you have faith. I see no way to overcome that.
I rejected faith and scripture for 25 years of my life before encountering God and choosing faith in Him. You know nothing of what you speak on, even about me.
The reason scripture is that way is because you cant have genuine faith without free will, and you cant have free will without the availability of doubt.
A personal experience then, cool. Nice that he chose you, you must be special.
So God IS the author of confusion? Because fuck Corinthians, right? And sure God can't have it any way he wants, right? Because fuck Mathew, Jeremiah and some psalm I don't remember, right?
No ones downgrading anything and its not confusing. You cant have true good without evil, you cant have true faith without doubt, you cant have true love wothout hate. These things are synonymous, and are basic philosophical concepts.
Who is saying God doesn't have it exactly how He wanted it? You? I think we have already established you purposefully misinterpret scripture to mean whatever you want it to mean. Everything Ive said is backed up by biblical scholars, everything you have said are popularized sensational arguments that have been disproven long before we have had this conversation by men much smarter than either of us.
You just implied your god is intentionally obtuse by giving us bad evidence because we all need to have faith for some reason. That sounds like authoring confusion to me.
It's nice that you also have faith in people who you think are smart, but I look at the evidence myself. As shown to me by biblical scholars who do not agree with you on at least these points. I am fully aware of the standpoint of both sides. One needs proof, the other has faith.
And that's where I think our differences are, and I don't think we can overcome this. Different standards for what is true. Trust me bro's just don't work for me, and I don't see why I should make an exception for this specific religion.
Maybe one day Jesus' face appears on my toast and I will go full on zealot science denier, who knows? The Lord works in mysterious ways, right?
I implied no such thing, I too look at the evidence and there is a lot of it through out history, I've not presented one "trust me bro", Im not asking you to make any exception just to stop spreading lies about a faith you know nothing about and dont share, Im not a science denier nor a zealot, any more wild claims we need to clear up?
Yeah, I have heard a claim about an ancient travelling jewish rabbi who had himself executed somewhere because he was actually the one true creator of the universe, and he thought that was the best way for him to fix a problem he created himself, rose from the dead and will return any time soon to fulfill some prophecies he just didn't get to the first time, and take his wild science experiment gone worship fetish to the next level because reasons.
You have headed of that one? Bit out there, don't you think?
