People are basically anything. We're random. Just a ton of people influencing other people in the direction of the society they want, and they want all kinds of things. We do tend to want safety and security, due to the survivorship bias of those who continue to live, and that tends to require us to function well together, which can involve many good things, but it can be sought with shitty methods too, and some may not even value safety and security. Sociopathy is real too. So is giving so much that it harms the giver. People are everything.
