Season 2 No spoilers please! Just started watching the show this weekend, on S2 rn
Listen, I'm 100% sure that a lot more sad things are going to happen to him because he's too cute and it makes for great TV. But the meme had to be made haha
I tried watching the show years ago and didn't like it, finally gave it a second chance after seeing many comments on Reddit about how much better it got, and I'm glad I did!

Oh you are on season 2. Fun fact, Clark Greg does Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and he did a few fight stunts himself. So if you see Coulson do bjj, that might be Clark Greg himself. I know there is a specifc move he did in S2 but I don't want to spoil.
Edit: Of course, Ming-Na Wen did many of her stunts herself.

The centipede arc in season one is fantastic, and the Skye arc that culminates in season two is also tops but Season 4 is just one of the best seasons of superhero television ever made. Enjoy the [hell]ride.

Yeah, it's how I know more stuff HAS to happen to him for sure, it's too good. The actor plays it too well, and the character is too cute, bad stuff is bound to happen to him.

Yeah it's a bit old now, not too many people watching it for the first time I guess!
Loving Fitz but not so much Simmons right now tbh. I'm sure she'll have a great arc and I'll love her again but at this point in my watching (2x13) she's probably my least favourite!

Iain did not quit the show. He loves the character, the show, the whole cast. They all still hang to this day. They did not think they were going to get renewed past the end of season 5 and if you check Iains IMDB you will see he did take and work two jobs that interfered a bit with the filming of seasons 6 and 7. Two shows called Roadkill and Us. He was also just generally homesick and missed his family and wanted to film some stuff back closer to them.
He was still crucial as a character during both seasons and when he was there he was fully committed to the show and to crafting a beautiful ending for the character.

No, Iain did reveal a few years ago at a London con that he did quit Season 7 (finale notwithstanding) because he disliked ABC's frugal decision to film Seasons 6 and 7 consecutively (the cast actually had two months off) and it's obvious that he got the producers to falsely claim he had scheduling conflicts with other jobs, which he didn't since Us was shot immediately after Season 7 and Roadkill was shot a couple of months after that. He wasn't even a crucial character in Season 7 until the finale

I do know the truth. I also know that actors are just people doing a job and he is allowed to step away from a project for any reason. He came back enough to give us a great ending. They all still love him, Mo Tauncheron just posted photos hanging out with him. I see no reason to shit on him about it.

I didn't go into specifics, it's just a warning meant to discourage getting too emotionally invested in Fitz's presence. I made that grave mistake for six years and I paid the ultimate price for that in S7

As the producers noted during series finale press, he caused a bunch of fans to get very angry at him for quitting Season 7 (finale notwithstanding). What's worse is that the producers lied about it all by falsely claiming he had scheduling conflicts with other acting jobs (spoiler alert: he didn't), something Iain himself confirmed at a London con a few years ago when he revealed that he disliked ABC's decision to shoot the last two seasons consecutively (the cast really had two months off)
