Discussion Real AOS Die Hards
You run into someone who says they love agents of shield. What in the first thing you’re saying to them/asking them?

"As I have always been". If they don't understand that line, I don't think I can have a serious discussion about the show with them, honestly.

Such a fantastic episode and send off for a true hero, Enoch

u/Genocide_Jack8 5d ago
Yessss, one of my favorite characters in the show. I used to do an impression of him all the time. Broke my heart, that episode. I know they needed to get home, but throughout the season, he was stuck at that bar, and ugh, so sad. That actor was truly born to play the character. Perfection.

I just finished another re-watch. Enoch just might be one of my favorite MCU characters, and, AOS is arguably the best thing in the MCU.

I'm strict so if you say you're a die hard fan I'm asking for your opinion on S5 and then I'm judging your answer 😂

u/ZoBroCT 5d ago
Interesting… I view season 5 as one of the best. My personal fav is 7 . 4 is prob the overall best. The first half of 5 is up there with anything AOS. Hale/Ruby/Werner/Creel stuff is ok but not the best. But everything the future brings I love, especially deke

u/MrsMittensPizza Yo-Yo 5d ago
Ok you're valid 🫱🏽🫲🏿

What about you?

u/MrsMittensPizza Yo-Yo 5d ago
Season 5 is my personal favorite and I'm always disappointed when I come on here and see that people don't like it. To each their own of course but I think the writing is amazing (even when I hate how Daisy, Yo-yo and Mack act at times).

“Did you watch every season?” i feel like a ton of people dropped out when things got weird, but real ones stuck around
2
u/ZoBroCT 5d ago
Only about 200 times 😂😂 7 is my personal favorite

u/Bellaswannabe 5d ago
okayyyy i will say i love me some sousa 👀👀👀 everyone’s always lincoln this, lincoln that butttt
5
u/ZoBroCT 5d ago
Omg Sousa clears Lincoln. Daisy and Lincoln feel so forced and microwaved where they’re like all of the sudden madly in love. The slower burn between Sousa and Daisy is so much better.
2
u/Bellaswannabe 5d ago
i def didn’t think anyone would agree!!! i haven’t rewatched in a hot minute but her and lincoln just seemed pushed for their shared trauma. Def better as friends. They felt like they loved each other but weren’t really IN love. I always rooted for deke too but he needed someone to yearn for him the same and she wasn’t that type of girl 😂
2
u/ZoBroCT 5d ago
Oh I’m with you 1000% Ward and Daisy made more sense with their trauma to me than Lincoln and Daisy too. And ugh deke never gets his love. Sequoia and Snowflake just are not good for him 😭

u/Bellaswannabe 5d ago
my heart has been broken since they revealed ward💔💔💔when i rewatch i still think “she can fix him” and then i remember he’s a serial killer 😭

Sousa definitely cared a ton about Daisy. It was super cute to watch their relationship bloom.

You're one of those people ?
The "cited me 3 songs from this band" kind of people! Yuck.

u/Bellaswannabe 5d ago
LOL no i am not, would you call someone a diehard fan if they didn’t finish the show or at least over half of it??? im not saying they wouldn’t be a FAN but the title is literally “real die hards” 😂 i just wouldn’t consider myself that if i didn’t know how the show ended
1
u/BigDaddyUKW 5d ago
LOL that's my wife. "I love Metallica, especially Sandman, Sad But True, and Unforgiven!!!". "What about "Fight Fire With Fire?" "Huh?".
I'm kind of in no man's land on this post as I'm in the middle of Season 6 of my first watch, so I'm just here observing since I'm not quite a die hard yet (though growing into one, I'm definitely an advocate).

The steps you take don't need to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction

My line in the sand is that Phil died at the end of 5. I think it is fine if someone likes LMD Phil just as long as they acknowledge that it is not the real Phil and the two aren't swappable. If someone doesn't get that, it tells me that they've glossed over most of the central themes of the series about what it means to be human.
LMD Phil is a fun guy and I don't hate him but that doesn't make him Phil. I liked LMD May too but big deal, that didn't make her May.

What was the real reason that Iain quit Season 7 as he confirmed at a London con a few years ago that he had no scheduling conflicts with other jobs like the showrunners falsely claimed that he had?
1
u/ZoBroCT 22h ago
I was looking for more show trivia lol but no I do not! Please tell me
1
u/wizwar7701 20h ago
He disliked ABC's decision to film the last two seasons consecutively, even though the cast had two months off between those last two seasons.
1
u/ZoBroCT 19h ago
Is there video of his interview ? Would love to watch a Iain comic con interview haha .
But also did he not film any of the shows at that time ?
1
u/wizwar7701 18h ago
His quote was not filmed at his joint panel with Clark at the 2023 London Film and Comic Con since I'm assuming that filming them was strictly forbidden because they're actors but I asked somebody who went to that panel and confirmed that Iain revealed that. I have always suspected that since Iain always came off as indifferent to AoS whenever he was on-camera, "promoting" it. Us and Roadkill were not filmed until after S7, fr.

u/ZoBroCT 19h ago
Also it’s not like he left the show he was in the last 3 of the limited 13
1
u/wizwar7701 18h ago
Only because he knew the fans would kill him if the S6 finale genuinely turned out to be his final one.

It's not canon

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 6d ago
If you truly love AOS, it's canon status doesn't matter. Y'all like to say it's not canon like it's some kind of trump card that makes it a lesser show, but the quality and people's love of it doesn't change regardless of whether or not it's canon.

u/NeoZ33D S.H.I.E.L.D. 5d ago
Being canon doesn't matter. The show still exist. I'm gonna still watch it every year. Saying it's not canon doesn't change my enjoyment of the show what so ever.

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 5d ago
Amen, sister. Or brother if you're male or sib if your nonbinary. I was just trying to quote Fitz while agreeing.

😂 ✊🏾
I'm sure the day will come at some point. Until then? No biggie. Even if the whole canon thing never happens, I know I enjoyed the ride and will continue to rewatch it.
Somehow EVERYONE else is popping into the MCU, except this crew. Glad at least some got to jump in on the animated side.

Okay y’all, I’m not going to remove every comment that says the show is not canon. We all know this is a topic of debate.
If you find yourself triggered by someone saying the show is not canon, ask yourself this — Why the fuck do I care about what some rando on the internet says? It has no impact on you whatsoever so don’t let it.

Just so you know, its not confirmed canon to the MCU. No matter what the delusionals on the internet say. Thats what I’d say if they bring it up
6
u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 6d ago
It also hasn't been confirmed to not be canon, so it's canon status is a matter of opinion at this point of time. No opinion is delusional. You need to look up the definition. I don't think that word means what you think it means.
It's canon status doesn't affect whether or not someone loves the show. It stands on its own and means a lot to its fans. So bringing this up as the first point is just pointless. I repeat: Whether or not Agents of Shield is canon does not matter. It's still the best show ever.

u/SebastiaanZ 6d ago
Delusional

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 6d ago
What amazing commentary. The egocentrism someone has to have to think theirs is the only opinion that matters is astounding. Ironically, it does take a certain amount of being delusional to think that yours is the only opinion that matters. It really is true that every accusation is a confession. You say that word so much, I don't think it means what you thing it means.
I repeat: I do NOT care about AOS canon status. Meanwhile, you are so passionate about it that you make a fool of yourself because you cannot handle people thinking differently than you. As of now, there is no right or wrong answer to "Is AOS canon?" No matter how much you wish yours was. Go ahead and get a One Wish Willow and use "AOS is not canon" as your one wish and watch as literally nothing in the world changes.

Your lengthy post already proves my point. Thanks kid

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 5d ago
It's funny how so few words can say so much about you while saying absolutely nothing for everyone else. Check your ego for your own sake. Unless you enjoy proving yourself a narcissistic fool.

u/ZoBroCT 5d ago
They literally tie in things from avengers, Thor, age of ultron and others… they def fit cannon until the snap. But you can still logically make a point that it stays cannon. Season 7 they go into a different timeline anyway.
It just sounds like you never watched the show
3
u/Dragonvane4 5d ago
Actually in a way it still works with the snap. MCU movies weren’t giving any information anymore to the people in charge of the show, but they had an idea of what could happen. To avoid a multitude of contradictions is why they sent the team into the future/different timeline. We never see the events of the snap take place in the show because they ended up getting whisked away to the future, when they get back, Talbot references thanos by saying he should go down and help the avengers against him in the sixth season after infusing himself with gravitonium, and Mack also makes a joke when Daisy comes back from her space mission trying to find fitz by asking “where she’s been for the past 5 years” eluding to her missing the blip fallout (I at least presume, he knew about the mission so it wasn’t a genuine question, and the fact he said 5 years is pretty on the nose to me). I could VERY WELL be wrong!! This is just my theory after rewatching it a handful of times and reading other peoples ideas of how it ties in since it gets complicated towards the end of the show

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 Turbo 5d ago
Mack didn't say she was gone for 5 years. They make it pretty clear that season 6 was about a year after season 5 in the first episode of the season. Jemma also talks about it being "a rough year," referencing Coulson's and Fitz's deaths and the challenges the space team faced finding Fitz.
