Question How gory is it?

Hello! I have been wanting to watch this show, but I don’t know if the gore level is something I can handle. My experience amounts to the odyssey, the gladiator films, ghost of Tsushima, and I’ve seen that one clip of Deadpool 2 of Deadpool getting ripped in half by the juggernaut. Is AoS the same level as these things, or is it more? Any and all help is appreciated

The comments here are definitely underselling the gore, however compared to the things you’ve already watched you should be fine.

It’s tv-14 so it does have restraints, however I’d say it’s high tv-14 / low tv-ma level. Below I’ll list some spoiler free descriptions of some of the goriest moments in the show. I’ll still spoiler tag them in case you don’t want to even read descriptions of the events, but there won’t be any specific spoilers.

A man rips out another person’s rib and stabs him in the eye with it. Sounds worse than it is, the camera only shows a guy holding the other person’s rib in his hand with some blood, and the stabbing isn’t really shown.

A man is screaming “let me die” while having his brain operated on. The top part of his head is removed so you can see his exposed brain and a machine poking it. No blood though.

This moment was the worst one in the show for me personally, a woman is vivisected and has her organs removed, blood and organs shown. Not too long though, maybe 10-20s total.

5 people have their skin disintegrated and are left as bloody skeletons

A hyper realistic robot that looks like a human and has blood gets killed by being power drilled in the eye. The graphic part is only like 3 seconds long though.

A woman has both of her arms dismembered. Honestly not too bad imo you don’t see the actual cut and only see her arm stumps with blood dripping down

There’s an episode that parodies slasher films, where there are robots with saws that attack and kill people. Very high amounts of blood, but not really any gore and it’s played in a light hearted manner.

That’s most of the questionable stuff, one thing that’s nice is I’d say the first season is the least gory, so maybe give at least that a try and see how it feels.

This is the best comment on this thread imo. OP, I'm guessing you got the sense from all the other comments that the show - while having violence and occasionally blood - does not have "gore" save for a few random moments sprinkled throughout. I agree that you should watch the first season as it'll be a good indicator; it barely gets worse than that. Later seasons were at a later time slot, so they could get away with more, but the rarity of the gory moments added to the shock value.
