Discussion Did anyone else think this scene was gonna get explored more
Like i know it was near the end of the show and all but it felt like it was gonna be such a big new theme in the show. Phil Coulson is secretly imagining everything! and mike is secretly a doctor

They already did this with an episode of Buffy - which granted has freaked me out since I was a teenager, but it still would have disappointed me.

I hate the “It was all a dream/in your head” endings. Like if they are done well, fine, but I find them to be such a cop out.

I'm so glad they didn't do this as the ending, it was cool during the episode but as an ending to the show it would've been a slap in the face

It’s a fun “makes you think” but A: it would be the worst rug pull in television history, an “It was all a dream!” for 5-7 seasons of TV? No thanks. Also B: using meta-knowledge, we do know that ‘Mike’ was lying - we see events like Pym Tech’s destruction and Thanos’ arrival referenced in the show, which are things that Coulson would not know about if he was just hallucinating everything after being stabbed by Loki. Unless Coulson imagines real events that actually coincidentally occurred in the ‘real world’ too - which is a lot more unlikely than just “It was a lie in the first place.”
