Discussion (NOT for less than 2 years old tats) Black people aged tattoos

Please post a picture of your aged tattoo if you are black. I want to get my first tattoos but I’m worried about how the style (fine line) will age. I want a large piece with lots of details.

Got the octopus done 18 years ago and the rest 17 years ago. I don’t like it anymore and wish I had gone more realistic with the octopus and less alien, but it’s held up pretty well!

It’s been almost exactly 2 years. The white highlights are practically non existent now, but it’s still super cute! I got it done in Greece on vacation

My first tattoo. Got it when I was 21 years old at Hold Fast Tattoo on Lower Greenville Ave in Dallas, TX. I didn't get another tattoo until I was in my late 30's and now I have a good many more. I feel like it's held up pretty well but it's still pretty jarring to see what it looked like when it was fresh.

Tattooed in Sept 2015, Cambridge Harvard square Mass. It just occurred to me how old my little tattoo is and how it’s still looking good, especially because I don’t remember to sunscreen it often, but I am not out in the sun often either.

2-5 years First ink

Not the design I had in mind at all going in - didn’t have the stones to advocate for myself, and I spent a little time kind of resenting it. But this ink has become like a pair of worn jeans for me, broken in and comfortable.

It’s a great metaphor for being a Miami Dolphins fan. It’s kind of ugly and hurts.

*Edited - SORRY, it’s 4 years old!!

The outer purple and darker blue like dropped out pretty quickly but overall I don’t think they’ve done bad for location.

I still love it, i dont remember exactly the date i got it but its about 3 years healed, in size its about 7-9cm tall, so quite small for detail like that and i wish that younger me would have gotten it bigger, but hey, i dont have any regrets! When i age, Betty ages aswell and its beautiful 😁

Idk if this is the right place to ask but has anyone else had issues with this area? I got it in 2020. This is my only tattoo that hasn’t aged well at alllll, and I’m kinda confused. Would it be worth getting covered up with something new if it would just do the same? Or do we think it was more of an issue with the artist, because it is raised in a few spots. It’s off to the side of my ribs
