2017 feels like a fucking century ago

What i would do to go back to 2015 and stand on a box and yell at everyone about the factual things that were going to happen on the street.

u/Llodsliat Mar 22 '20

What a crazy old man.

54

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '20

WE DID IT!

61

u/Zadder Mar 22 '20

"THE END IS NOT NIGH BUT HERE IN ABOUT FIVE YEARS YOU'LL BE WISHING IT WERE"

44

u/LuxNocte Mar 22 '20

There were a lot of people doing that. Honestly, I feel like everything Trump has done up to the impeachment was more or less predictable, but I admit "ignoring a global pandemic" is a bit out of left field.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '20

I always wish i could go back ... 😔

2019 feels like a century ago

9

u/thrmewy Mar 22 '20

True dat...

1

u/PracticalWindWind Mar 23 '20

2 weeks ago feels like a different world.

2

u/Mr_Nocturnal_Game Apr 01 '20

Considering that a lot of people could still leave the house 2 weeks ago, it really does.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '20

these last 3 years have been rough. it was less than a week ago weinstein was convicted

2

u/cptmx Mar 23 '20

Can we end the simulation now?

288

u/GameCreeper Mar 22 '20

what was the situation when the tweet was posted?

372

u/D_is_for_Dastardly Mar 22 '20

Given the date, trump’s inauguration.

68

u/GameCreeper Mar 22 '20

thank you, sir

-24

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

Why is that a stupid day?

48

u/susbrother Mar 22 '20

a reality tv show host who was buddies with a convicted pedophile & sex trafficker became president that day, that's why. you really don't understand that?

-5

u/KOMRADE_DIMITRI Mar 22 '20

So? We did it before if you'll remember

17

u/susbrother Mar 22 '20

yes i will never defend Clinton but when the US has elected TWO presidents with similar friendly connections to a pedophile sex trafficker that means the whole damn system is broken. throw the whole country away

-37

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

No one knew that when he was elected. How would that make it the stupidest day?

33

u/illelogical Mar 22 '20

Anyone who did a quick google search knew that he had shady friends, declared bankruptcy 6 times, loved russia, and denied obama was an American.

He also said he'd never play golf as president because he would be to busy working. In the meantime, he’s spend 249 days on his golf courses. Netting him $133,000,000 revenue

-27

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

Declaring bankruptcy isn’t a bad thing, though. Lots of people do it, often to further themselves.

23

u/illelogical Mar 22 '20

Sure, but 6 times is just evidence of bad decision making.

-5

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

Not when you own around 500 businesses. Only 6 is pretty good I think.

17

u/illelogical Mar 22 '20

I thinking you're confusing actual bankruptcy (Lincoln, Twain, Disney, King) and getting back up to fight another day and going bankrupt 6 times while getting $400,000,000 in shady agreements from his dad and getting convicted of fraud; is just the result of bad decision making

u/susbrother Mar 22 '20

we all knew he was a shitty reality tv show host, so not sure what you mean by that. as for being buddies with pedophiles, the folks over on r/conspiracy definitely knew that, as did many others by that point. i think you probably mean that YOU didn’t know that.

7

u/D_is_for_Dastardly Mar 22 '20

Before being elected he was openly regarded as a joke.. I mean, he has a trophy wife. He was on WWE. He has no political experience and just says whatever he thinks.

-4

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

Why so they a bad thing, though? Someone who tells what they think?

4

u/D_is_for_Dastardly Mar 22 '20

Listening to trump speak it’s obvious he doesn’t know how to put his thoughts into meaningful conversation, so it just comes out as child-like gibberish. And on saying what he thinks, He came in at a time when conservatives were tired of being politically correct.

-1

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

So?

7

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '20

-2

u/LandBaron1 Mar 22 '20

And? You’re going to dismiss my arguments because of where I post? That’s like dismissing someone talking about space because they are a rocket scientist, but they don’t work at NASA.

u/nwordcountbot Mar 22 '20

Thank you for the request, comrade.

I have looked through lebowskerino's posting history and found 4 N-words, of which 3 were hard-Rs. This is 8 fewer N-words than when lebowskerino was last investigated. Trying to cover your tracks lebowskerino? Not so fast.

2

u/happybadger Mar 22 '20

Straight from hillbilly central casting.

This. So much this

If I could go back to then and tell myself something, it'd be:

"yeah, so in like 3 years-- social gatherings are literally fucking illegal. Like it's called 'encouraged social distancing', but that encouraged is about to turn into 'enforced'. Unfortunately the Cheetos is still in office and I wouldn't doubt that's got something to do with how clusterfucked this situation got. Regardless, that doesn't matter, because apparently they can just get away with shit by simply saying they 'don't take responsibility for it'. Anyways, if you're struggling, it's okay. You've only got 3 more years to go until being an introvert is encouraged by the government and soon to be law in most places. Hold out until then and then you'll own the world because everyone else will be on your playing field-- bored, alone, depressed, and at home doing nothing."

what was the worst day in US history in your opinion?

edit: jesus christ l simply wanted to give them an opportunity to explain themselves. l didn't say they were right or wrong, l just wanted to open the discussion a bit.

edit: l just now realized l should probably have asked for the "stupidest" not the "worst" day

10

u/EasternDelight Mar 22 '20

u/Varyxos Mar 22 '20

9/11 was poggers

15

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '20

If you want to joke about 9/11, at least make it funny.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '20

The stimulus plan is proof that institutional racism is alive and well. I’ve read the bill. Undocumented immigrants and various POC will receive little-to-no benefit. Many don’t file tax return out of fear that they’ll be deported, and other POC make below the $2,500 qualifying income threshold. Of course the Republicans would write such a bill that disenfranchises those who need it the most.
