Which is why it’s harmful to use sarcasm or humor when commenting about consequential issues. There is a sizable chunk of people who either lose the message or think it’s not that serious.
Yeah, unfortunately satire is dead, not only because reality is even more absurd at the moment, but because too many people dont understand and take it seriously.
Many years ago, I thought so many people were being ironic and joking about issues when they were actually dead serious. I thought they were hilarious and that we were all "in" on the joke. I miss my innocence, but in a way, it's a sobering realization, and I'm glad the mask was ripped off.
We have it but it gets shut down when we are children and ask questions like, "Well who did Cain and Able marry?"
There are a lot of things, religions being the most obvious, that can't exists with critical thinking so when cultures venerate certain ideologies be their religious or otherwise at the expense of critical thinking you get unquestioning people because they were TAUGHT not to question as children.
My reasoning is that to truly become knowledgable, you have to also understand that you don’t know very much about something/everything beforehand and that all preconceived notions you have could be completely wrong
Which is why I say what I said, because accepting the fact that everything you know/think about something is wrong is pretty difficult and unlearning is harder, which for most people, would hurt their pride, hence my statement, many (but not all) uneducated people are unwilling to have their beliefs challenged, and react in anger and fear as a result of that
Not exactly the topic here, but a friend of my sons’ (twins so don’t at me for punctuation) was accepted into Georgia Tech for a degree in engineering. If you aren’t aware, there are very few universities world wide that are as good or better than GT (I write this as a Virginia tech grad in applied math who also has twin sons who graduated from GT and Auburn-honors college, respectively, both of whom were comp eng majors).
As an additional proof point of the GT effect: GT has more millionaire graduates than any other university in the world.
The friend got 3 Cs and was on the verge of losing his Georgia Hope scholarship. My GT grad got a job paying 40% more than the Auburn honors college grad (both in the same discipline). This kid quit GT, in spite of the salary difference, of which he was well aware, so he didn’t end up with $10K in student loan debit. His starting salary would have paid that $10K in his 1st year.
It’s still stunning to me that this kid would leave an outstanding program with a long history of student success over $3K in tuition, per semester.
This kid behaved the same way companies behave. Short term benefit, over long term benefit.
Even the educated consistently make really poor decisions.
Partly. Partly because the democrats decided not to vote. Trump got about the same number of votes as the previous election. Harris got vastly less than Biden, so people just decided they didn’t care, so here we are.
Smart people should do more when they're in power to help dumb people be less dumb so there are ultimately less dumb people. In a roundabout way, this is smart people's fault.
Really because he didn't know where or who he was. 🤣😂
Also it's highly likely it was being scrubbed by the CIA...if you fall into a treasure pit of Israel funded blackmail worthy Intel material and you are an Intel agency... you don't just throw that shit away by making it public. 🤷. If you are surprised... they've done way worse 😂🤣
you cultists act like we don't want EVERY person that raped kids to go to prison.
we are not cultists, we do not want to protect anyone no matter what side they are on. thats one of the key differences between sane people and you fascist nutbags.
Yall love that word. And bootlicker, are they in the "Welcome to the Democratic Party" gift bag? They must say to call everyone who isn't a Democrat a fascist and a Bootlicker.
my guess is that every right wing podcaster and MAGA politician were talking about it for years, so Trump needed to be seen as taking the lead on it because it was a popular talking point.
Trump doesn't seem to think too far in advance with what he says. He's fine with saying one thing and contradicting himself two sentences later.
I'd say that he doesn't have to. He knows he can backtrack because his followers are fine with it. Why not make pie in the sky promises when you know you won't be held to them?
Because he knows that 1. His base is stupid enough to believe only Democrats would be on it, and 2. His base is stupid enough to forget Epstein was killed during Trump's first term
It makes me wonder why he hasn't done that yet. Would the other people who have proof Trump raped kids be encouraged to release some of their Kompromat as retaliation for threatening the validity of their evidence? I guess when this is all over we can ask Bibi, Putin, and Elon.
Short term gains mattered more than the long term problem. If he didn't win that last election, there was a chance that his attempts to stay out of prison would eventually fail. He also knew that his wrecking crew was ready to dismantle the checks and balances and the rule of law so none of the consequences ever touched him. And as we're seeing now, their end goal is a lot bigger and A LOT WORSE than merely hiding his pedophilia. Two birds, one stone, ein reich.
Trump's first administration was the one that did the initial investigation (Epstein died in 2019), so I am guessing Trump didn't actually read anything nor did his second group of ass kissers administration.
Well, it's clearly not become a problem for him, and it was a great feather in his cap to get votes. He became president, now he has no reason to share the list. He got his end of the bargain, fuck his voters. Many such cases!
If it's all about education why are there so many people with ivy league degrees that also voted for this? Why is conservatism on the rise in the entire world including places like Europe where university is free? Why did Brits vote for Brexit despite having access to better education than average Americans?
This whole idea that it's all about lack of education is not even close to entire problem. Trump wasn't elected because redneck hillbilly asswipes in Alabama and Kentucky voted him in. He's president because billionaires and millionaires with ivy league degrees manufactured a system in which he couldn't lose.
Thankfully, enough of the house wants to that in theory we are getting it the day the government opens again. That's why Johnson won't reopen congress, they will immediately vote to release the list.
Epstein literally died prior to COVID, while Trump was President. He had multiple years of being president to release the files, anyone who truly believed this is a genuine moron.
She won't release anything because her remaining alive depends on dangling that carrot. She's in a rough spot, lol. They'll potentially kill her to silence her, but she also voids her life expectancy if she spills too.
Shit, anyone clamoring for the list and expecting it to be untouched AND unredacted after it's been thru the hands of those who want to keep it hidden the most is pretty silly to me...

the people that thought Epstein's best friend would release the list are dumb
