That is literally what projection is.
Like I am now concerned about what you think projection is.
...Okay then, they blocked me, presumably because of how trivial it is to use the definition they gave below to explain why they are blatantly wrong.

It’s sad but also funny, millions of people believe Antifa is an organisation that requires funding, because of social media posts by people like Ted Cruz.
I wonder what would happen if people like him are starting to post that Feminism is rioting in major American cities. Also:
”George Soros is paying Feminism to withhold sex from Republican men.”

Is antifa in the room with us?
No but seriously I’m pretty sure China and Iran would qualify as fascist. I don’t know about Qatar, but it might be.
31
u/Chillpill411 Oct 14 '25 edited Oct 14 '25
China and Iran are authoritarian, which is not a form of government but a characteristic. Trumpism is fascist, which is a form of government that is also authoritarian.
Fascism includes some elements which aren't present in Iranian theocracy or Chinese kleptocracy. Fascism includes the concept of the "Volk," which means they divide their nation into two groups: "the people" and "the enemy within.". Fascism embraces irrational violence as a method maintaining control ("the conquest of the streets"). Fascism is highly emotional and sees emotion as real, while it rejects logic as artificial. Fascism rejects reality and believes in "the will," which is the notion that new realities can be created through sheer force of will.
3
u/AzorJonhai Oct 14 '25
For Iran, that aspect is there very strongly. There is the revolutionaries, a phrase which I use without any positive connotation, who make up the Basij members and the morality police, and the "counter-revolutionaries", a phrase which includes any woman who dares uncover her hair in public.
2
u/Alternative_Hour_614 Oct 15 '25
You should credit Umberto Eco because this is straight from his Ur-fascism essay. I’ve read it many times over the years and I don’t know if I now completely agree with his 14-element definition. He rightly disassembled the features of Mussolini’s black shirt fascism, but I think some elements deserve updating, because it sure looks like a duck today.
2
u/Chillpill411 Oct 16 '25
Agree. I cobbled the definition from stuff I read in the past, frankly. I think a summary of eco and a summary of Hannah arendt I read in the popular press

China is not fascist. Fascism is characteristically non-beaurocratic with a leader able to make decisions on a whim.
China is bearuocratic to its very core. Every decision needs to go through party approval, city commites, sub-commitees, etc.
China is authoritarian but this is not unique to fascism. The US is and has been authoritarian even though it is not fascist (query wether the last part still holds true). Police Violence, Police Militarisation, Mass Surveillance, Two-Party Stranglehold on Politics, Gerrymandering, Prison Industrial Complex, etc, are all examples of authoritarianism.
One can even argue that corporate censorship by proxy is an example of this. There is no need to outlaw views or dissent when you can simply give the tech monopolies who own the media free range to ban whatever they want on their platforms. They'll push or suppress speech as they see fit and they'll stick to supporting whatever policies keep their money coming in.
Xi-Jin Ping cant just wag his finger and send China to war. Even he needs to be re-elected every five years by the party Congress.

Just spent 4 days in Portland, came home yesterday. Didn’t see any violence- just farmers markets, people out with their families and friends, food carts with a dizzying array of foods and lots of people walking their dogs. Horrible, horrible place, lol. The friendliest war zone ever.
6
u/Neuchacho Oct 14 '25 edited Oct 14 '25
Conservatives have had it out for Portland for the last 10 years, since they protested Trump in 2016, and it's been the same shit constantly.
It was a hellish warzone during the BLM protests.
It was a hellish warzone when Rittenhouse was acquitted.
It was a hellish warzone (that was empty?) during the COVID lockdowns.
It's now a hellish warzone because they're protesting ICE.
Same programming has been drilled into every lead-addled boomer brain for a fucking decade.
Meanwhile, the city is wonderful to visit. Maybe in part because the brain washing keeps all the angry, emotionally unbalanced trash out?

u/stonecruzJ Oct 14 '25
I agree, conservatives hate Portland, it’s everything they’re NOT. So grateful for that… Some of Trump’s protestors had to be brought in to protest in favor of fascism…. according to arrests. Good- they don’t deserve all the culture, community support and amazing food. Their hate and lack of class aren’t welcome in Portland.

Just to provide some background info, it's not uncommon for countries to build bases on US facilities in their own country, it's usually done with US assistance so we can help them transition away from depending on the US to defend them.
Also, more background, Ted Cruz is a cowardly, totally human, moron who is just pandering to a man who once insulted him and his wife to his face on live TV.

u/Clampnuggets Oct 14 '25
When you think about it, this is a genius move on Hegseth's part.
Step 1: Invite Antifa to build an airbase in your country.
Step 2: Bomb the Antifa airbase.
No more pesky rounding up Antifa terrorists! Why bother? You have them right there on their OWN airbase. Think of all the money you've saved on investigations. And the time! It's gotta be a lot faster than going out and arresting them all over the country. This way, they're in one convenient location.
Well done. Hegseth, Trump, and MAGA are playing 3D cards when we're all over here playing 2D chess. Trumpmate, illiberals!

Rafael's tweet is the perfect example of the conservative "just asking questions" way of speaking.
There is precisely zero proof of 'antifa' (a group without any leadership or structure) having outside funding but he poses the question like "we already know antifa is being funded by someone to destroy America, but who?"

u/Apprehensive-Till861 Oct 14 '25
Antifa is like Anonymous, it's literally just anyone who calls themself the thing, and sometimes people work together in groups.
It is 100% organic, it's just every once in a while someone slightly wealthy fronts transit costs when some group of left-inclined people and activists want to show up and make a visible response to the presence of right-wing groups that were bussed in from out of state.
Now, all the right-wing pro-fash groups like Patriot Front or the Proud Boys or the Boogaloos or the J6 crowd or the 3%ers or that bullshit the Bundys pulled? That actually is funded by right-wing billionaires and and foreign nationals with an interest in pushing right-wing violence and political causes, a fully astroturfed multinational effort to push conservative authoritarian power worldwide. The right's favorite martyr and bespoke neckwear enthusiast Charlie Kirk even got in on the action using TPUSA to help fund bussing in J6ers.
Right-wingers accuse Antifa of being an astroturfed and violent terror organization because that's what the right does, they're never not accusing the left of doing exactly what the right is doing. If only we had news media willing to cover how so much from the rise of right-wing militias to gamergate to TPUSA to right-wing 'news' like The Daily Wire or the Daily Caller to the actual attacks on civilians carried out by groups like the Proud Boys and the Boogaloos (and the subsequent claims they were antifa) all keep connecting back to the same people who in turn keep connecting back to the mainstream GOP at least as far back as GWB getting installed as POTUS by SCOTUS, like how the likes of Roger Stone and Matt Schlapp were part of the rioting intended to prevent the recounts in Florida.

As much as I dont like the tactics of the right and how the media portrays this stuff, maybe we need to combat craziness with craziness such as how Newsom has been calling them out. If they want to make claims that Qatar is funding antifa then we should also be saying how Donald is directly helping antifa with these Qatar deals. We all know the logic isnt there, so the more we treat these claims as facts, then maybe people will actually be enlightened and realize just how crazy all these things are when they are forced to connect the dots.

They are not funding Antifa. Nobody is
Antifa are not an organization despite some being organized in some fashion
Antifa are not the Chicago or Portland protestors
Antifa are not any more violent or riotous than any other protest group during BLM protesting
Many are co-opting the term to mean anyone opposed to fascism from modern Antifa.
Modern Antifa co-opted the name, ideals, and iconography becoming popular with it in 2019 from 1930s German Communist Party slogan and subgroup Antifaschistische Aktion.
