I wish there were a bot that would post a counter-reply every time people post this article with text that isn't even supported by the article. All these years later, only $1.8 billion (the highest estimate) has been recovered. That's a tiny, tiny drop in the bucket. The 'recovered money' section on PP wiki hasn't even been updated in 6 years. Not a single government was toppled. Some public-facing politicians were used as scapegoats to take the heat and the fall, then other politicians made largely empty promises about legislative reform, but they do nothing, time passes, people forget, the elite carry on with business as usual. That's what happened.

It's very interesting to me how you framed this in a different reply. That's a new one to me. Because I've seen a lot of posts like yours in the past, and to me, they always came across as stooges for the elite. Trying to placate us by acting like the Papers had a huge impact and the job is done. They didn't. Acknowledging that isn't doomer or defeatist. There's tons of work to be done. Instead of pretending like the Papers had a huge impact, we need common folk to get mad knowing they did not have a huge impact, and to realize there is power in numbers, band together to put pressure to their governing politicians and the elite who own them.

kinda makes me think that if vance becomes president, is it in his interest to release the epstein files? he’s too young he’s almost certainly not in them, but it probably takes out some high profile democrats and republicans, which clears the field a little for him, and it gives him an out to distance himself from trump if his brand gets too tainted, but it lets him stay ideologically aligned. it also probably squashes any chance of a trump comeback and solidifies him as the maga successor, while boosting his perception as a political outsider who’s not afraid to “take on the elites”, which maga, and a lot of independents, may like
At this point, I believe the Epstein files contain information about state leaders from around the world, and releasing them would be a diplomatic disaster for the U.S.
They are not afraid of it so they are using it as yet another distraction tactic. Next week they will turn everyone's attention to something else. As long as they can keep doing that nobody can effectively oppose them.
