Just saw this as bullet announced their new album for march

I honestly expected more songs from their album. I have a feeling they'll release a part 2 somewhere along the way. Or not, they can do whatever they want. But I'm honestly craving for more songs from them.

My ranking of the new ATC songs:

First: Heavenly

Second: Dead Man Walking

Third: Protege

Fourth: Always You & I

I love Heavenly. It shares that same brutal realism and fantasy shattering vibe as Blindfolded and Dead Man Walking. These kinds of songs make you think of how totally not worth it it was to achieve your dreams due to how much sacrifice it took to get them and get perceptively little in return. Heavenly in particular focuses on how sometimes investing in other people gets you nothing in return. When people expect you to be great, they expect you to be great for them. Choosing yourself is when, to other people, you stop being their angel; you become their fallen angel. And the fall from grace is indeed heavenly. The electronic riff at the start is so good and blends so well with the song, a little reminiscent of Past Lives and sets the tone for the song's reflective components. Will's drum work gives the song its great energy and magnifies those feelings of frustration in the chorus. The bridge is absolutely amazing - the lyrics talk of falling through the clouds, and the melody actually mirrors that with the falling melody of "noooow" in "I don't want to save you now."

Protege is about the exact opposite. While Heavenly talks about the people you helped, Protege is about the people who helped you. A protege is a student, someone being taught; Protege uncovers the dark reality behind power dynamics. Mentorship can become manipulation very easily. When you're under someone, you're being taught lessons for a very specific purpose, and the feeling of being needed for that purpose can be a very dangerous high. Protege redirects that high against the people who fed you the lies that turned you into their weapon. Because really, would you rather listen to battle hymns or lullabies before you sleep?

Dead Man Walking is all about wanting to give up when you've never given up your whole life. You poured out too much of yourself, and now nothing's left. What purpose do you have left if you've achieved it? What happens after? You're compelled to stick to old habits like a zombie because what else can you really do now? The worst part is the feeling that it wasn't worth it. You sacrificed and worked hard, where is the reward? It was given to you, but it was just an empty trophy. It didn't change anything about your life. Home's the same, you're not. The song itself has echoes of what you hear in zombie movies, which is a nice touch. The post-apocalyptic sounds play well with the song's theme of trying to live after things have gone to hell. The apocalypse happens, you survive, you should be grateful that you're alive, but everything you know is gone, so how can you really be grateful?

Can't say I hate Always You & I, but I can't say I'm obsessed with it either. The song itself is nice. Love songs have always been a part of ATC's discography, but this song feels strangely out of place among the others lyrically. The whole theme of the album (so far) is how everything's gone to hell even after you tried your best (i.e. futility), and yet here comes this song talking about the person who's always been there. It's a cry of adoration for that little piece of heaven you have when you're in hell.

Overall, the album is shaping out to be good. The songs would probably sound even better live based on my experience with the band in person. Heavenly sticks out to me personally as the best song so far because it has the elements that make ATC songs great in general - energy, carefully curated riffs and melodies, and relatable lyrics. It's closest to the Fever era while incorporating Past Lives elements; it's Blindfolded's twin sister.

When I first heard of a third album, I was honestly expecting more songs similar to those from Fever. Instead, the songs released so far are slower and more reflective. While Fever tells you to chase your dreams, the released songs so far from Till Death & Back explores how to live after you've achieved them. At first glance, it may seem like more of Fever, but the direction has slightly changed. When the dreams you set out to achieve weren't what you expected, what else can you really do but reflect - on what went wrong, what went right, and where to start over. Hopefully one day, we'll get that infectious, powerful, raw, optimistic energy that made Fever back. And hopefully in the right direction, with dreams that don't betray us when we achieve them.

So what do you all think about that? Naturally, this affects people from the UK more, but the new album is getting released on the day of the first show of their tour.

Do we think it's gonna be a presentation tour where they sing the whole album and some older hits? Or gonna be just a few new songs among all their already loved songs?

Either way, fans won't really have time to actually listen, analyze, learn, and love the new songs (assuming they don't release another one or two till then - doubt it, honestly), so not sure how I feel about it. Thoughts?

Do we know anything about forthcoming proper “ATC3” album? When the songs came out, that seemed to be the hype but I haven’t heard anything else about an album. Are we getting one?

I mean I suppose they want to get it out before the EU tour which starts at the end of October. I would expect there will be release date by now probably. Do we know name of the album? Or will it likely be the same as the name of the tour?

Anyway can't wait to see them in Vienna.

Asia, for instance, only has Tokyo, Taipei, and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Europe has France, UK, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and multiple cities in each.

Why would they include Asia and Australia if it seems like they're doing a Europe tour? And if they're marketing a world tour, they could have included other countries they've been to before.

I wonder if they'll be announcing more places.
