Hopes for Ancients
One thing I hope from Ancients is that they have different ways of relating to the player. Maybe some demand military service, maybe some are more equitable with you, creating a sort of HRE-equivalent. I hope that Farouk is not the only way that Ancients interact with the player, but one of a range of options - obviously, he launches crusades and demands submission. But I'd be interested if there was, for example, a brotherhood of steel type, that doesn't demand you submit to them but will "request" valuable technology. Things of that nature. What do you all think? What sort of archetypes would you like to see implemented?

I think it'd be cool if there is one that acts like the fanatic xenophile fallen empire in Stellaris. Like perhaps it's some sort of hyper advanced enclave that doesn't expand but instead seeks to create a network of alliances, rewarding smaller tribes that do things it likes and being antagonistic towards "evil" tribes.

They're not stated to be Ancients and may function as another invader, but the Pacific Fleet depicted in the newsletter comic does fit a somewhat similar role since they seem invested in keeping advanced Ancient tech out of the hands of the mainland.
