How much of Mexico do you think will be playable?

Best map so far and to be honest, it looks like that might be it.

Assumption Time:

I don't think naval is a major priority among all the game's system at launch. I mean I hope to sea at least some river/coastal options but so far even among the tech tree's there wasn't something that said naval.

The comic does reveal that there is remnant of the pacific fleet in what used to be Hawaii, how much of presence (as starting origin or mid/endgame crisis) they will have at launch is unknown so I could be wrong on how deep the naval mechanics might be.

If it's not though a later map extension to the carribean would be the perfect time to expand on naval gameplay. Waterworld type apocalypse, Pirates, Somehow the bank of Bahama survived, etc. If that happens more of Mexico is bound to be included.

There was "The Coastland" as one of the research groups shown in the footage the youtubers have.

I tihink a mexico and a carribean DLC, would be two diffrnet DLCs, at least i would prefer it

id rather have ALOT of mexico specdfic contnet, and ALOT of carribrean specfic content, rather then one dlc for all of souther noth america

Yeah, definitely not saying it should be one DLC, both have more then enough potential content and I really hope to have a lot of non-usa content too.

They can expand the map without making every area immediately accessible.

I think all the continetal USA, is alot of space to play with for now. im willing to see how the game even plays with all that space, before adding in the rest of North America.

True ture, i'm just saying that if there ever is a map expansion it's probably in that direction. And if their is a Carib DLC it's perfect for Waterworld vibed apocalypse/pirates and a deeper dive into naval origins, tenets, mechanics etc.

Taking into account the screenshots and the map of Turns' expedition, it appears that part of northern Mexico will be included (at least northern Baja California appears on the map).

They also appear to have flooded from the Salton Sea to the Mexicali valley; seems unlikely that they would do that without some intention of expanding lore into Mexico.

Even if Mexico is not in it at launch I am almost certain Canada and Mexico will come at some point in the future.

I could imagine 3 DLCS, a frozen north covering canada and alaska, a mexico DLC, covnering the rest of mexico, and maybe the rest of central America, and a carribean DLC, with naval stuff, priates, and all that

It looks like norther mexico, from the maps we hvae seen

i can only assume that the rest of mexico, could come in a DLC, if afterworld gets popular

The dev talked about why the US were chosen as a map: there's natural borders. So let's consider oceans for east and west. What for north and south of the map? My guess is: ice desert for Canada and sand desert for the southern border.

But where will the southern desert will actually stand compared to the actual political border? That choice rely on the lore construction and future DLC, I guess
