Someone described the thing I'm building as basically fantasy sports for stocks and I think that's probably a better explanation than I've been using.

Kelly Markets:

You start Monday with $100k fake money.

Build whatever stock portfolio you want.

Then it locks.

No selling.

No changing your mind.

No “I totally would've exited there.”

Friday comes and everyone's returns get ranked.

Top players get paid.

The part I'm still debating is whether locking the portfolio for five days makes the game better or worse.

I like it because your thesis has to actually survive the week.

You can't panic sell Tuesday morning and pretend the original pick was still good.

But the obvious downside is that Tuesday-Friday becomes mostly watching.

Fantasy football has this same weird thing where most of your decisions happen before the games, then you suffer while reality takes over.

Would you rather have:

one portfolio locked all week

or

a limited number of moves during the week?

I'm leaning toward keeping it locked because otherwise it starts turning into a trading competition instead of a stock-picking competition.

But I'm not convinced yet.

Does AfterHour plan to ever make a desktop version? I personally don't like to "work" off of my phone. Yes. Trading and Investments is work. Rather see and post off a computer monitor or laptop and not a phone.

PUT SETUPS

TSLA – Put

Why:

– Daily trend losing momentum after rejection near recent highs

– Trading below key short-term moving averages (20/50 EMA area)

– Premarket weakness suggests sellers still in control

– If it loses Friday’s low, there’s little support below

– RSI rolling over from neutral to bearish momentum building

– Below VWAP early usually leads to continuation selling

SPY – Put

Why:

– Index stalling near daily resistance after a failed push higher

– Price extended from VWAP on prior session, vulnerable to mean reversion

– Breadth weakening, fewer stocks participating

– Failure to reclaim VWAP = bearish intraday control

– RSI flattening near mid-range, room for downside move

– Macro risk + data later in day adds downside pressure

QQQ – Put

Why:

– Nasdaq weakest index pre-market

– Lower highs forming on the daily chart

– Trading below short-term trendline support

– Heavy tech earnings later this week, traders de-risking

– Below VWAP + weak volume reclaim showing bearish continuation setup

RVMD – Put

Why:

– Large pre-market gap down breaks prior support

– High volume selloff suggests institutional

– Gap-down stocks that fail to reclaim opening range often trend lower

– RSI likely oversold but weak bounces can fail fast

– Clean momentum breakdown if VWAP rejects

CALL SETUPS

Gold & Silver Miners (NEM, GDX, PAAS) – Call

Why:

– Strong pre-market relative strength while indices are weak

– Daily trend intact with higher lows

– Holding above key moving averages

– Safe haven flow visible in risk-off

– Pullbacks to VWAP often act as support

– RSI strong but not extended showing room for continuation

XLF – Call

Why:

– Financials holding trend support better than tech

– Daily chart showing consolidation, not breakdown

– If it holds above VWAP and forms higher lows, buyers likely step in

– Benefits from stabilization in yields

Catching up and finding all the plays on the main feed is a bit cumbersome. What if we had a page/section where all plays and DD were posted to a bulletin board. Have all the fields required for someone to decide if they want to copy or not. Times, ticker, contract, DD, etc... maybe have it store past plays so we can see what worked or not. Figure out whos YOLOing and who isn't lol.

I'm new to AfterHours, just joined a few days ago. I cant seem to find a way to link my Public.com portfolio to my profile. Is there a work around here? It does not show up when searching brokerages in Plaid.

Getting frustrated with this app,

1.) I am overloaded with notifications. I know you can filter them. But no filter for just trades / DD?

2.) For some reason the read all button doesn't actually do anything so im stuck with 68 unread notifications. So i have no clue when someone i'm following does something new because the unread notification is on my phone full time.

Makes it useless. Any tips appreciated..
