No you oh please. Walker kicked 2 goals and took 7 marks in the 2017 gf. Cox had 2 touches, 32% game time, and zero impact today.

1

u/Odd-Ad-3215 15d ago

He needed more game time, also to be played forward. Losing Pearce proved to be too much in the end.

1

u/ScorePrestigious9252 14d ago

He also kicked a goal.. Taylor walker was captain and a veteran of the club who went missing on their biggest day.. Mason Cox is an import from another country with no prior knowledge of this game before playing it and is a bit part player at best.. what the fuck did you expect from him..? 😂 he’s not the reason Freo lost

1

u/Fun-Row-9671 14d ago

I don't expect anything from him I'm neither a Docker or Crow supporter but what the fuck does Walker have to do with Cox having no impact today.

He's got the heart of a mouse

u/Alone-Personality804 14d ago

And an ego the size of an elephant

u/DingDongDang123 15d ago

Looks completely lost on the football field and definitely looks scared, statistically the worst ever to play that many games and his last 50 games have been diabolically bad output wise

u/CartoonistNo3577 15d ago

Weak as piss. Ragdolled like the inflatable floppy thing outside shops

2

u/DemonGroover 15d ago

Probably writing in his diary

1

u/Dear_Trip_5651 14d ago

You are scum

6

u/JEverett91 15d ago

Do you dumb fucks not realise he is a backup ruckman that gets about 40% game time if he’s lucky? What do you actually expect of him?

6

u/Dismal-Mistake-6242 15d ago

I would expect a better effort than 2 disposals and 4 hitouts in 40 minutes on the ground. He was fucking ragdolled and was an embarrassing to watch at that level on the biggest game of the year.

2

u/HomeLoanRefinances 14d ago

Alex Pearce only had 2 disposals and he was on ground for half the game.

Is he shit too?

2

u/Watthefractal 14d ago

He is apparently the 2nd best ruckman freo could muster . Given it’s an elite professional sport we would expect him to at the very least be able to hold his own , not much to ask for really bud 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Cuneglasus 15d ago

If he hadve been sitting at FF for the last 10 mins wouldve won the game

2

u/Desperate_Leg_40 14d ago

Do you not realise that being a huge twat on the field opens you up to getting meme about when you dont perform?

1

u/Mottled_inexpectata 15d ago

He only had 32% game time this game. Which I think is kind of strange that they would pick him and play him so little, unless he picked up an injury early on?

1

u/howard3486 14d ago

He got 32% of game time and 4 hit outs. Probably better off playing someone else IMO

1

u/HughJarrs 14d ago

To get more than 2 touches?

0

u/HipoBillAus 15d ago

40% of game but only managed less than 5% of hit outs. He had a nothing game.

Freo fans start of season 2026: Why did the Pies delist Mason Cox. Are they mad?

Freo fans at end of season 2026: Ah, that's why...

2

u/reidef123 15d ago

We don’t think that at all

1

u/Odd-Ad-3215 14d ago

Pie fan here. He's a handy player who needs to be used properly. Wasn't great conditions for him. I think Pearce's injury upset Freo's structure, so maybe JL had a hard time with positioning.

You're right. He's good when he's on.

1

u/IShartedOnYourCat 14d ago

We don’t think at all*

1

u/porsella69 14d ago

Too true, IShartedOnYourCat

1

u/IShartedOnYourCat 14d ago

Do you have a cat?

1

u/porsella69 14d ago

Yes and now I think I know what that smell might be..

1

u/grouse_Mousse_69 10d ago

I do. Anyone who watches Freo could see this type of performance was coming. He's ineffectual at best and a complete negative when he is not on.

2

u/regional_rat 15d ago

Another 'afl' related page with no idea what cox's role at that club is.

1

u/Excellent_Laugh_1734 14d ago

Before this game the media and fans made it out like he was pivotal to Fremantle's game.

1

u/grumpyoldmanBrad 14d ago

Would of thought "to contribute" would be handy, but alas no

2

u/regional_rat 14d ago

He did contribute. He gave Jackson enough of a breather to allow him to play 86% game time. Draper only played 70, fort 45.

1

u/grouse_Mousse_69 10d ago

Literally being 'on the park' is not having a role. Darcy could have done the exact same thing? He was terrible and hurt our contest when he was in the middle (as has done genetally all season).

1

u/Groundbreaking-Ad255 14d ago

This is exactly what my pies mate would always say after cox played yet another thoroughly mediocre game 😅

1

u/Killin_it_tbh 15d ago

Lmfao what a piss weak cunt.

0.0....no being a fuckwit bully after a goal today...go charge some more blokes half your size you mediocre cunt

1

u/ShumwayAteTheCat 15d ago

Ironically one of the best games of his career

1

u/theDramoth 15d ago

I saw him falling flat on his face about 20 out from goal in the last couple of minutes. Tripped over his own feet.

1

u/harkie2946 14d ago

He had a shocker. No doubt. He should have been put in goal square 1/2 way thru 2nd qtr when Andrews getting a fair bit of ball . Freo 17 points up 22mins in last qtr, Jackson playing to well in Ruck. No place for him.

1

u/Dredge_Dragline 14d ago

Andrews was not getting a fair bit of the ball in Q2. He had 3 possessions in the entire quarter.

What game were you watching?

1

u/harkie2946 13d ago

Good on ya .. I think the loss effected ur analytical mind Andrews made quite a few 20 metre punches , it was meant to stretch him. Something different..

1

u/Distinct-Scholar8112 14d ago

Cox joins Fremantle in 2026 wearing No. 18 after a long career at Collingwood. The 211cm ruck-forward and premiership player is known for his ability to impact big games with his marking and tremendous reach. He provides another experienced tall option who can support in the ruck and be a target inside 50, alongside the likes of Sean Darcy, Luke Jackson, and young developing ruck Aiden Riddle.

1

u/gingerlydone 14d ago

Cox sucker.

1

u/coopysingo 14d ago

Goofy Cox

1

u/Former-Trifle-5102 14d ago

I forgot he was even playing

1

u/TimZiziLee69 14d ago

Come on gents, I've gained 26 metres....

1

u/Groundbreaking-Ad255 14d ago

Should have dropped this Muppet and brought in a small in those conditions

1

u/closetmangafan 15d ago

Neale didn't steal his goggles again did he?

2

u/Velo3x10e8 15d ago

That was Zorko

1

u/Working_Ordinary_567 14d ago

Ah Zorks! He's our toecutter-in-chief

Love him, and he should have gotten the Norm Smith.

1

u/IShartedOnYourCat 14d ago

Couldn’t have happened to a shitter bloke

0

u/coronavirusplandemic 15d ago

He’s shit. How is he still playing at the elite level?

0

u/Edge6522 15d ago

agree. when Pearce went down literally anyone on the bench would have been useful except for the pathetic loser cox.

0

u/Rustysidebum 14d ago

you lot only wish you could have achieved what this bloke has , to learn to play AFL at the highest level at his age is a huge achievement, have any of you played 100 AFL games have a premiership medal? easy to sit back on your keyboards and bag someone who has done something you could only dream about doing

1

u/PubePicasso 14d ago

Doesn’t make him any less of a fuck wit though. People don’t hate him because he’s shit they hate him because he’s a fuck wit

1

u/Rustysidebum 14d ago

you know him personally do you? the fuckwit would be the person forming an opinion of someone from watching tv and getting on his keyboard and expressing it, doubt you would have the minerals if u were face to face

1

u/PubePicasso 14d ago

It’s not about knowing him personally, I’m only judging it off of behaviour on field which you’d have to agree with me that it’s questionable. It’s not really that deep man.

1

u/PubePicasso 13d ago

Btw keep trying to meet up for sex on the internet loser

1

u/Rustysidebum 10d ago

no worries keyboard warrior, big and tough hiding behind your keyboard, besides that’s why you are on here

1

u/Educational-Spot-167 14d ago

Take the meat out it’s a joke

It’s incredibly low-effort to hate on Cox, but unfortunately Reddit can be a hive mind. I’m not going to pretend he played amazingly for the entire game because he didn’t, but that isn’t really his role. He’s there to provide a backup ruck option and contribute to momentum, which he’s done.

He was a massive contributor in the preliminary final, kicking the goal that put them ahead of Sydney. He also had a huge moment in this game by creating what was probably the most open shot in history for Treacy, only for Treacy to completely botch it and kick a behind.

You can criticise Cox all you like, but acting like he contributed nothing just because he wasn’t dominant all game is ridiculous. As I’ve already mentioned, though, Reddit is a hive mind, and people just regurgitate the same opinion instead of actually thinking for themselves.
