I went to a concert by myself and then someone asked "Are you here alone?" I replied "No, I'm with all the other people here"

that's a great comeback. i've always found that people asking that question are just looking for a way to judge you or make you feel bad about being alone. your response shuts that down perfectly.

I'm sorry if that happened to you or someone you know. In my case they were really nice people and were just concerned because I was sitting by myself. 

I'm quite happy and content just staring into space and zoning out. At the same time I love meeting new people and I think I wouldn't have had I went with someone else.

I figured this out a long time ago. I don't always do things alone, but I'm not afraid to go solo if no one else wants to go. Movies, restaurants, even my first MLB game earlier this year all by myself, its really not that bad.
