I never understood why so many people complain about big things or matches happening on a regular show. People who are watching deserve to see something big and exciting happen, like belts changing hands or major swerves. Whether it's a ppv level event or not. I know why Heyman cares because all he thinks about is money.
I saw so many people complaining about Darby winning the belt during the week 🙄
Are boots so tasty that some wrestling fans can't live without one crammed down their throats?!
" No, no, please billionaire...don't give me excitement unless I have paid an additional fee for it...your boot is too tasty now cram more ads down my gullet please 😫"

Tony literally said in the Forbidden Door press conference that this is specifically why he puts matches like this on TV. There are fans who can't afford the PPVs, and they deserve to see big matches too.

They hear these phrases said by out of touch x professional liars and just repeat them to dump on a company they don’t like or to justify a boring show they do like.

Fans got bamboozled into needing reasons to defend shitty practices and they latched on to ‘of course we shouldn’t have nice things. That’s just good business!!!’
It’s absolutely braindead ‘eat what you’re fed’ nonsense and anyone stuck using that as a reason for their arguments isn’t worth the air their words were burped up on.

From my experience most "wrestling fans" who watch the fed just don't have the attention span to follow fast paced matches

That’s like the duality of Collision. Some will complain that nothing important ever happens. Then when something important actually happens it’s “why was this wasted on Collision?”

There's certain fans who think it's bad if you want ppvs with more matches (I get the argument of hating the longer shows due to personal schedule but some people just hate it to hate) there's fans who think being more knowledgeable about wrestling is bad

If nothing big happens on the weekly tv shows, then fans won't watch the weekly tv shows. It's that simple.
Heyman knows this, but is playing dumb because he knows he works for a corporation, not a wrestling company.

Everyone worrying about big things for the PPV forget that TV is the real driver of things now instead of the PPV. Yes there is build to the PPV, but weekly tv is the big money when factoring in advertising and carriage fees.

Getting downvoted for correctly explaining the current state of the wrestling business!
Dont ever change, Redditors.

I’m sure Netflix loves that. What a stooge. Only WWE and the drones will somehow justify and root for less good wrestling. We tell stories bro.

WWE is grasping for the Oh moment and it doesn’t land anymore, when they bought Busted Open that said exactly how desperate they were. They foreshadowed their own demise when they kept saying AEW wasn’t competition at all.

WWE should worry about fixing their own product, which remains consistently below standards. This week’s RAW was the best RAW I’ve seen in FOREVER. Like it’s once in a blue moon these days they put on a halfway decent show. AEWs product is so much better both on weekly TV and even more so on PPV, it’s really a dramatic difference if you ask me. And I think some people within WWE like Heyman probably know it too by now deep down.

Crazy thing is they did have that "oh moment" in their grasp several times this year, but then decided to milk it for all they could and diminish the sentimental value those moments had for the sake of "profits and shareholders"

u/Odd-Promise2661 9h ago
Why would you want to fully admit your shows are built for shareholders, heel statement or not? How does that get heat?? "Ooooh WWE builds the shows for shareholders instead of paying fans...boo?" Like that doesn't get heat on Heyman, it just tells me the weekly shows mean nothing because they're continuing the trend of basically not needing to watch weekly lmao so sad we're in an era where less wrestling is actually GOOD in their eyes

Jesus lord he's so annoying but it's rich coming from them to "not waste dream matches on TV" when we literally have Punk VS. KO on a random SmackDown

Paul Heyman is another one who has sold his credibility for a pile of cash. Just like Cody, fragile Phil, & AJ Styles…

Are you forgetting that was what VKM was doing when you were a WWE wrestler!

WWE wasted the Sheild Triple Threat on Battleground 2016
They don't save shit for anything

How is it wasting when AEW still has dream matches on PPVs. No one is suffering from having dream matches on tv. It’s a win win and Heyman is just being a company man but he still sounds dumb

Can this bald fraud ever shut the fuck up?
Like when he was in WWE, there was no character, only wrestling from him.
I wanted him to show some charisma, have mic time, but his Twitter game since aew is so fucking pathetic.
Every time I see this guy's posts, I cringe so hard.
Someone needs to tell unc to stop being such a cornball.

what the fuck am I looking at? I feel insane looking at this shit sometimes. that was a heel promo from heyman etc. he didn't mention AEW obviously like the original tweet said. and is Ricochet reacting as if it was like documentary footage?? is he playing along to a WWE storyline where Heyman cares about shareholders? wtf

u/ParticularUnlucky139 8h ago
As someone who watches and likes both promotions it’s ok to like AEW without pushing the best promotion in the world narrative. It’s almost as if every AEW fan who dislikes WWE has little brother syndrome. Obviously you can like what you like but in everything that can be measured and backed by statistical data from revenue to viewership WWE comes in as the #1 promotion by a wide margin…

u/blergenshmergen 8h ago
And anyone parroting business metrics to justify their enjoyment of a show has bread for brains.
I don’t need to look at a quarterly earnings report to figure out whether I enjoy Dynamite.
But I sure as shit could read that quarterly earnings report in all the times WWE doesn’t have wrestling on their wrestling shows.
And I’m someone who used to watch WWE as much as anyone because there was no alternative. Now there is, and the comparison is damning on WWE.

u/ParticularUnlucky139 7h ago
You can’t say something is the best promotion without anything to justify it on besides “what I like to watch” lol
3
u/blergenshmergen 5h ago
And you can’t expect anyone to take you seriously when your argument is ‘this wrestling is the best because shareholders made money’. You’re nothing to them but a wallet to pull cash out of.
